RE: Talk Channel: "Comment or ask a question"/ Comente o pregunte (week 319) in the WOX
I gave up on Steemit years ago and the only "fun" thing of it was the games I played back then.
I don't have Whatsapp, no instagram or whatever and X I rarely use these days. I started it twice for Steemit but to be honest I don't see any point in it to wastte my time posting there since it doesn't bring me anything. Next to that I dislike the fact that every post, every single word is checked and within x time we should proof we are not a toddler using social media. It's fine if big brother or big sister checks everywhere but social media isn't that important to me that I will give my data (already in the hands of Trump because of our brainless "government" or what pretends to be one gave it away).
Since the year of the fire Horse started, I go for freedom (of choice). If it comes to it we are all thrown on ourselves (no electricity means nothing).
I assume you live from Steem or generate an income, unlike most Steemians. If that were the case with me, I would say the same, but it isn't. Not as I started and not today, and not in the future.
I am afraid (it is meant as an expression, I am not afraid, I know) that if money plays a role, there's no commitment.
The money first is the reason Steemit isn't seen as social media, and this cannot be changed. No one joins out of fun, to leave something behind for the next generations or the future. They signed up because promises were made, they are in high financial need, and need goes hand in hand with greed, unfortunately. Not even upvoting others is a habit (not even if the vote is zero to promote oneself.)
I assume that people left is guessing. We shouldn't forget that more and more countries struggle with a lack of electricity, we all deal with wars and if the need for money increases, we need to work more, find an extra job (which isn't Steemit).
I also noticed old Steemians return so it can also mean some are tired of writing daily since there's nothing to write and no one who reads or reaches out.
All together, people are lonelier, they wait for someone to talk to...
You are welcome, take care.
We have something in common: I don't waste time on social media like Facebook, and I hardly ever check WhatsApp statuses. I dedicate my time to productive things.
I have a stable job, although unfortunately, for the last eight years, I haven't been receiving the salary I should. However, I don't let it bother me; I'm not a materialistic person. But as you rightly say, money is important in this world.
I joined Steemit with the sole intention of generating money, but over time, I matured, seeing my continued presence here as a way to save for a project. That's why I started accumulating Steem Power, also with the vision of better supporting the Hispanic community. Certainly, if it weren't for the difficult situation in Venezuela, a result of the political war, sabotage, and sanctions you mentioned, I wouldn't need to withdraw my Steem.
I have other tasks, but sometimes they aren't for profit. For me, not everything is about money.
Sorry for the delay, I hadn't seen this comment. I saw it because I went back to see what questions I had asked.
Thanks for the interaction.
One way or another, we all try to survive. As long as I can I am satisfies. I don't care about a big bankaccount. I rather have some more free time. Before I had a job of 80 hours per week, next to my own business and the result was not even 2 hours sleep per night. Looking back I have no idea how I managed time back then. All I can say: it didn't benefit me.
Next to generating an income to stay alive it's also important to make contacts. You never know when they come at hand.
What a mess this world is, it doesn't look as if it's going to get any better.
I wish you a great day and don't worry about answering at once. For sure there are comments I forget among the long list.
