Even with "normal" airplanes, it's hard to imagine how such multi-ton machines can take to the air... This colossus is so ungainly and zero aerodynamics that it should really be doomed to just lie around. It did fly once, didn't it? I saw a documentary about it...
There were 2 working copies that were tested. This "plane" never worked, it was found unfinished in old shipyards. Several more similar ekranoplanes were laid down for construction, but they disappeared in the 90s of the last century. Most likely they were dismantled and sold as scrap metal.
