Poker has been around for a very long time, and today millions of people around the world enjoy playing it.
Some play just for fun. Some enjoy the competition. And some of you have probably experienced that special feeling when the cards fall your way and you win a big hand or even a tournament.
But how many poker players do we actually have here on Steem?
That's something I would like to find out.

Maybe you are an experienced poker player, maybe you have played a few games with friends, or perhaps you have never played poker at all.

♦️ What Is Steem4Poker?
Steem4Poker is a project to bring online poker to the Steem ecosystem.
It has been something I have wanted to bring to Steem for some time, and we have now reached the point where the platform is being tested with real players.
The purpose of the testing is to play real poker games, test the different functions and discover bugs or other problems before the official launch.
It is no longer just an idea.
There is now a Steem4Poker table with players actually sitting down and playing poker.
♣️ This Is Steem4Poker in Action
The screenshot above is from one of our actual poker test games.
This is an important part of the development. By having players use the platform and actually play poker, we can discover things that need to be fixed or improved before Steem4Poker is ready for everyone.
There will probably be things that need changing along the way. That's exactly why we test.
My goal is to build something that works well and that people will actually enjoy using.
♥️ Could Poker Bring Something New to Steem?
Steem already has blogging, communities, contests and many different projects.
But I believe we also need more things that give people a reason to come together and interact in real time.
Poker could be one of those things.
Imagine sitting at a poker table with Steemians from different parts of the world, competing against each other while still being part of the same Steem ecosystem.
Could live poker games bring more activity to Steem?
Could it attract poker players who have never used Steem before?
And most importantly...

I hadn't played poker before, however, I've been one of the players who tried Steem4Poker and I think it's excellent, knowing that there are many people who love this game.

I had never played poker before, so I honestly didn’t know much about the game. After Steem4Poker was created, I decided to give it a try and played it once.
To my surprise, I really enjoyed the experience. It was something completely new for me, and I think the idea of bringing Steemians together through a real-time game is really interesting.
I believe Steem4Poker could bring a different kind of activity and interaction to the Steem ecosystem. Maybe it could even introduce Steem to people who have never been part of the community before.

Bringing people who are not on Steem is one of the ideas behind the project and it is also possible to use SBD in the poker game.

I haven't played poker. But I know it is the most popular game among others.
My concern is the size of Steem community since crypto market is in bear market now and people have no interest in crypto let alone steem. For now I gave up launching a service only for steem users. Rather use steem in stealth in the backend and target general users. Good luck to your service.
