RE: A Better Life with Steem: DIY woodwork for your floor
I know you have a lot of work to do when an older house is to be restored.
Woow 200 year old floor, then I would say keep the soul of the house and the floor. I would have done it, the floor is incredibly nice and I hope you manage to restore what is needed.
You know my background that I have mentioned before.
But before I was 21, I trained to be a carpenter.
2 years education in woodworking at the vocational school and after that in further practicals in the building subject. I started vocational school when I was 15 years old.
So that background I have taken advantage of many times later with my own renovation of houses and help for others.
hehe, I'm renovating my own house yet.
Today my children are adults and they all have their own house and they benefit a lot from my experience as a carpenter. hehe I will not be unemployed.
The circular saw you show in the picture "Metabo" is exactly like mine. It is a great circular saw and has good quality.
Hi @xpilar that was very interesting to know about your background, it is very impressive that you went for woodworking study with 15 years. I love wood and so fascinated with all the old time objects and wood works that were done in the past. I know know why you love old wooden ship, there are a lot of hand works invested and many of them were unique.
To see this floor especially at the window due to the shape it is also looks like on the deck.
The Metabo saw is amazing my husband really loves it, he screwed it to an old heavy table so that it is stable and we have a good surface to use it.
Your family might be very proud of you and your skills, it is always good to have such knowledge when you have to renovate or build something.
Thanks for such wonderful feedback and sharing your experience :)
