My Christmas travel experience: travel to Rome

She called me over, and I went off to reminisce about my Christmas trips to Italy. It was a wonderful time, a Merry Christmas. Now I can only think about it; such a journey has become unattainable for me, and the Russians have become outcasts.

I want to show Christmas on St. Peter's Square. I stood on the steps of the porch in front of St. Peter's Cathedral and looked at the Square, and inside I had an inexplicable feeling of great Happiness.
I was especially impressed by the Nativity Scene. This is a real theatrical performance in which the actors froze at the very right moment - Jesus was Born..

While walking around the Square, I had a GoPro HERO action camera in my hands.

It was 2019. I can say that this was the first such nativity scene that I saw. Before that, I had seen shelters made of fir branches next to churches in Russia, which were called a nativity scene. And such installations began to appear only after 2015; before that, there was nothing like this.

Christmas in Russia began to be celebrated again only in the 21st century. And then, people began to decorate their houses not for the celebration of Christmas, but for the celebration of the New Year. This is the difference from Italy, which has a long history of Christmas, and therefore, people try to decorate their homes for the holiday.

Nemi is a city-municipality, subordinated to the administrative center of Rome. A very small compact city, stuck to the edges of the old crater of the volcano. And I felt the real Christmas spirit here! I've never seen anything like it before.
