Hi Dear @steemblog and fellow Steemians,

This is @dove11 from India. I joined this website on May 14, 2022. I can read and write English and Hindi. I am applying for "The Steemit Challenge for Season 29." Please read my personal data, experience and proposal as mentioned below:

My Proposal

I believe in two great joys about writing:

  • Creative/fiction writing

  • Travel writing

Both of these genres provide you the opportunity to show your personal activities. My last season was creative writing, but being a traveler, I propose a travel-related contest for Season 29. I am sure this will boost engagement by encouraging users to share stories, photos, and tags tied to destinations with their personal experiences.

My idea is to bring the best out of traveling Steemians from popular destinations with their personal shot photos and videos tailored for the Steemit platform. I believe everyone usually has their own experiences and wisdom.

I am suggesting a contest that should bring the best travel experiences, photos, and videos with a specific hashtag every week for six weeks from Steemians based on:

Cultural Immersions

Describe encountering a local tradition, e.g., "Festival Magic in My Hometown," outlining sensory experiences and lessons in the essay. Video shows rituals, dances, or food tasting through quick cuts, highlighting colors and sounds for engagement.

Adventure Challenges

Narrate an adrenaline rush like "My Travel Dare," covering prep, thrill, and takeaways in 500 words. Short videos use action cams or edits to replay the peak moment, such as a cycle ride or hike, keeping viewers hooked.

Sustainable Escapes

The essay on "Eco-Friendly Getaway Tips" explains low-impact choices and their impact. The video demonstrates practical demos, like zero-waste packing or park cleanups, with on-location shots to inspire green travel habits.

Foodie Discoveries

Recount "Street Food Hunt Gone Wild" with flavors, vendors, and stories with a 2-3 minute clip featuring tasting reactions, the surrounding market idea, and recipes, tying into local favorites for relatable appeal.

I will ask for dream vacations, hotels, airlines, their foodie adventure, packages, and travel methods.

Ideal itineraries
Travel preferences
Beach or mountains?
Related stories during travel
Great images
Encourage videos.

ⱽⁱᵈᵉᵒ ᵐⁱⁿᵉ

I propose a travel contest limited to 500-1000 words with 2-3 minute videos and 8-10 images that blends best with topics that involve concise storytelling, visuals, and personal passion, fitting the Steemit platform.

These formats encourage quick, emotional narratives around journeys, discoveries, and tips, drawing from popular destinations in generated content.

I hereby provide the weekly schedule for six weeks.

Week 1: Popular Spot

Participants should share a 500-1000 word story plus a video of their visited spot, like a heritage site or offbeat trail. Videos capture the site's vibe in 2-3 minutes with narration on why it beats tourist traps. This sparks cultural pride and easy filming.

Describe these 5 points for this "Popular Spot" contest, ensuring your post is in 500-1000-word stories and 2-3-minute videos that highlight personal connections and unique vibes.

Entry Requirements

Detailed Narrative: Write 500-1000 words describing your visit, including the spot's history, your journey there, and sensory experiences like sounds, atmosphere, or whatever you felt best or even worst.

Personal Connection: Explain why this heritage site or offbeat trail resonates with you and your family's memories, cultural significance, or a transformative moment.

Explain in your story and video narration why it surpasses tourist traps, focusing on authenticity, accessibility, or hidden features.

  • Video Guidelines

Film 2-3 minutes on-site showing panoramic views, close-ups of details, and ambient footage to immerse viewers in the atmosphere.

Your trip should spark cultural pride, engaging and easy filming with your phone or camera, and selected images.

You can PIN your post on Steem-Atlas and upload your video through Speem for additional benefit, but it is not mandatory, as you can post a YouTube video.

  • Please note: This is only a specimen contest but the details will be available in contest post, if selected.

Week 2: Travel Mishaps

Entrants recount a funny or challenging travel blunder in 500-100 words, visualized in a short video. Topics like "My Worst Flight" or "Lost in Translation Moments," which could be anything highlighting a humorous situation.

Week 3: Dream Destination

Steemians will describe a personalized dream trip in 500-1000 words, with a video tour using clips of their trip. They should focus on budget to tell Steemians, emphasizing food stops or parks, etc.

Week 4: Food Spots from Your Trips

Steemians will narrate a 500-1000-word description for authentic street eats or hidden eateries, paired with a 2-3 minute tasting video. Themes like "My city's best -----secrets" tie into user interests, showcasing flavors, vendors, and tips for family/kid-friendly options. You can share a local trip as well as a trip to your favorite spot.

Week-5: Bucket List Moments

Steemians will share one bucket list experience achieved in 500-1000 words, with video highlights of the emotion. The idea is to bring their visits to their favorite religious spot, mall adventures, or their favorite tales, creating inspiration through their vivid storytelling as well as a video clip.

Week-6: Personal Journeys

Share a transformative travel memory, such as "A Solo Trip That Changed Me," in 500-1000 words detailing challenges and growth. Your video captures key moments with voiceover, like packing mishaps or scenic arrivals, evoking emotion in 2-3 minutes.
