Hunting for takjil before sunset with my wife at the Rangkaya intersection
Ramadan afternoons always have a different atmosphere than usual. As the time to break the fast approaches, the streets begin to bustle with people looking for various types of takjil (snacks) to take home. So did my wife and I, who decided to venture out for a quick break-fast meal around the Rangkaya intersection.

After finishing our activities at home, we set off together by car to the takjil (snacks) vendor, which is usually crowded with locals. Upon arrival, the place was bustling with activity. Many vendors were selling a variety of foods and drinks typical for breaking the fast. From fried foods, kolak (sweetened beverages), fruit ice, to a variety of refreshing drinks, all of which were very tempting.
We walked slowly, browsing the menu. The aroma of freshly fried food was tantalizing. Customers were also busy choosing what they wanted to take home to break their fast with their families.
After browsing through several options, we finally decided on fresh sugarcane juice to break our fast. Sugarcane juice is perfect for breaking the fast, as it's sweet and refreshing after a long day of thirst and hunger. The vendor quickly prepared the drinks before we could continue choosing our other food.

Besides drinks, we also bought fried chicken as part of our iftar menu at home. Warm fried chicken with the distinctive aroma of spices is certainly a delicious dish to enjoy when breaking the fast.
As the time for breaking the fast approached, the area around the takjil (meals) vendor grew busier. Many people rushed to buy food before the call to prayer for the evening prayer (Maghrib) sounded. We didn't want to linger there for fear of leaving the trash behind.
After purchasing everything we needed, we immediately continued our journey home. The afternoon atmosphere was calm throughout the journey, although a few vehicles still passed by. We hoped to arrive home soon so we could enjoy breaking the fast together. For me, simple moments like buying takjil with my wife in the afternoon during Ramadan are always enjoyable. It's not just about buying food, but also a valuable time to enjoy togetherness amidst the daily grind.
Upon arriving home, we prepared to wait for iftar, while arranging the food we had purchased. When the Maghrib call to prayer finally sounded, we were able to enjoy the breaking of the fast meal with gratitude and happiness.
