CineAtlas 60 | Week 4 - Object as Character | [Ghorashal Railway Bridge / Narsingdi]

in Traveling Steem5 days ago

Hello friends, hope you are all well. Today I am here to participate in this SC-S30 | CineAtlas 60 Week 4 - Object as Character contest organized by @kouba01.

This week was a bit interesting for me because the main topic here is objects as characters. Here I focused on a character which was a train on a bridge. I went to the Narsingdi Ghorashal Bridge which is also known as the Ghorashal Train Bridge. Trains to different destinations travel over this bridge every hour. I took a video and took pictures while the train was passing over this bridge in front from another bridge on the other side.

A train on the railway bridge

This place is located in the Ghorashal area of Narsingdi city. There is a huge river here, the name of which is Shitalaksha River. There are two bridges over this river, one of which is a railway bridge and the other is a bridge for other vehicles. Ghorashal Railway Bridge is an important transportation system where trains always pass through.

However, that scene is a matter of patience because the train does not always come. Here, the train was slowly moving forward, so I turned on my phone's camera and recorded some video. I focused only on the train on that bridge and chose it as the object. I captured the train in such a way that it will look like a cinematic scene.

I captured the scene with my phone as the train slowly moved forward through the middle of the railway bridge. There was a river below that sometimes boats sailed through. But while the train was moving, everyone's focus was on the train. In the middle of the train, a few people were sitting on the roof, but they were in a dangerous position because an accident could happen at any time.

On the bridge, there were a few small ships parked on the river. The bridge you can see here was a red railway bridge. The pillars under the bridge were much higher than the water because the water was low in winter. The train was crossing from one side to the other at low speed.

I captured the scenes by positioning my camera at the right angle. Here the camera was moving slightly but the framing was right. But as a special attraction, I took close-up shots after a while. Now the light and shadow joined me because there was a light fog in winter.

I took close-ups as the bridge was a little far away. Basically, I kept the train as the main focus, so I had to take close-ups. I think this is a realistic scene. Many people like train journeys, but I shared this scene of how a train crosses a bridge.

  • Why I chose this object - I showed a railway bridge over the river where a train is passing. This is a cinematic scene. Because we see this kind of train passing scene in many movies or short films. That's why I felt like I should capture this scene.

  • I chose this because the video is appropriate in this place. When a train passes over a railway bridge over a river, everyone will want to watch that scene from a distance. Because it will seem like a cinematic scene.

  • While capturing this scene, I realized a feeling or message - why is the train speed reduced on the bridge? Why do passengers risk traveling on the roof of the train? If I had been on that train, I could have captured some more moments. But I tried to portray this scene in a cinematic character.

The place and scene you have depicted as "Object as Character" is undoubtedly extraordinary. The scene of the train passing from one side of this bridge to the other is a contemporary one. I really liked the scene when the train was passing over the bridge at 32 seconds of the video, and I think you got it very easily, as you have to wait a long time to capture such a scene in a video.

The train bridge of Narsingdi Ghorashal which runs over the Shitalakshya river. Due to this bridge, the train can easily go from one station to another and the presence of the bridge reduces the train's journey a little and saves time. Therefore, this bridge is playing a good role in Ghorashal. The presence of the train on the bridge and the photograph taken make it look even more beautiful.

A beautiful scene you’ve captured here. I am always fascinated with train passage and sometimes also stands to watch them as they sped by. This is the first time seeing train on a bridge. I must say it’s cinematic and those people sitting on the roof is quite risky.

The distance is a bit far. It would have been more dramatic and giving a mystery feeling if it was done from a closer distance but the lightning and picture with video quality is superb considering the distance it was captured from.

You have chosen a really great location for week four. And it was really nice to see it. Especially the scene at 29 seconds when the train was passing over the fridge was amazing. And at first I thought you were filming from a boat or something in the water, but then when I saw at the last minute that you were filming from another bridge, I was surprised. Anyway, thank you, everything was really good.

The scene of the train passing over the Ghorashal Rail Bridge has become very vivid in your photos and descriptions. The combination of the light fog of the winter morning and the old red bridge over the Shitalakshya River looks quite 'cinematic'. However, the way you mentioned the risk of passengers on the roof of the train reminds us of a harsh reality of our society. The way you have presented this train journey like a character is quite creative. Thank you for such a beautiful sharing and many good wishes for you. Stay well always.
