Preamble

Namaste to all fellow bloggers on Steemit. It's a pleasure to have y'all here once again, this time reading my day's log of experiences. I just can't wait to give you details of my day's activities and how it all went down.

Morning activities 8:00-11:00

I failed to wake up early today too, just like the other day, as published in my previous diary post. As late as exactly 8. My outdoor activities commenced 43 minutes after waking up. It'll interest you to know that all the things that I needed to do indoors immediately after waking were all carried out within this short time. This is how:

Morning prayers 8:00-8:05

As always, I said my daily morning prayers immediately after waking up. I went ahead and read from the Bible too.
For today's devotion, I read this verse in the Bible.

But Jesus said, "let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Other minor activations were arranging my bed and brushing up. What I skipped is breakfast. It became necessary to do so because of a lack of time. I deliberately skipped in order to focus on these planned things for the day:

  • Repairing a leaking pipe

Man at work

So I helped My neighbor did a little repair on his leaking pipe today. He's been asking me to help out if I can. I had earlier agreed but kept postponing for one reason or another, but decided to do it today. I actually listed it first in my today's activities to be carried out as planned yesterday so as to not postpone it again.

The red-coloured tap you see on the pipe here in the picture is new, in replacement for the old one which got spoilt and was causing the leakage. I have no formal knowledge of plumbing work, yet this was very simple for me to do. It actually took me less than 30 minutes to finish it. He was so glad that I helped.

  • Having breakfast

At 10:00, I decided it was time to have my breakfast. I wouldn't have bothered thinking about breakfast at that time if I hadn't eaten little last night unlike other days.
On my breakfast table today, there was bread and akara.
Also called bread bean, Akara is a locally made dish that originated in West Africa. The Fast food, or rather referred to as "street food," is primarily made from ground black-eyed peas or beans.

Bread and Akara

Some of the ingredients are just onions, salt, and pepper. Akara can be eaten with a variety of other foods, including bread, pap, custard, garri, oatmeal, and so on. With bread, it can be placed in between loaves of bread and eaten like a sandwich. This process is referred to by many as "African burger."

Afternoon activities 13:00- 17:00

At 13:00, I had my shower and decided it was time to go get something from the market as planned last night. I actually went there to get some ice fish to prepare for my meal. I love fresh ice-fish. I prefer it to dried, which can be even more costly.

Photo captured in the market

I got to the market just 15 minutes after departing home at 13:10. Unfortunately for me, there wasn't any fresh fish available, which I always buy . My most favourite fresh fish is called "Horse mackerel". This was the one I was sorting after due to the nature of my planned meal but couldn't find while the availability was "Herring" type of fish.

The difference is that herrings have too many bones, though sweet, but are not good for stew making, while horse mackerel has fewer bones and is not tiny like the other one, and it's sweet and good for stew.

The seller told me my favorite would be available tomorrow, I promised to be back tomorrow. I couldn't buy the available, so I returned home.

  • Taking a bath

So I got home at 15:30 and the weather was really scorching. Today happens to be a sunny day in my region. It's special in the sense that we do not experience sunny days here regularly during this period of the year; it's always raining. Today happens to be a cloudy day, and we love it.

This time, I took a full bath, and I felt much better. I even took a nap few minutes after bathing.

Evening Activities 17:00- down

I woke up at 18:43. That wasn't a nap then, but deep sleep. Next on my planned list was getting a haircut. I headed to the barbershop and requested for my hair to be trimmed. The guy who attended to me wasn't my regular Baber. I was told my regular went out for a meal. The apprentice promised to deliver what he knew best, and I believed him.

Here's a fact: One of the biggest fears of boys is having their hair cut by a new person. It's always a kind of risk-taking.

I was as well, skeptical at first, but not anymore when he started. Even his handling of clippers proved that he's an expert in his field. He trimmed my hair exactly how I wanted it after all.

Trimming my hair

This brought me to the conclusion of today's to-do list. I then returned home at 19:13 .
It's already night. I just had my shower, and while my dinner is in process, I'm publishing this post . I'm hoping to post before eating . I'll then engage with other users' posts and plan my tomorrow's activities, including posts to be made on steemit before going to bed.

Conclusion

The overall rating for today is super. It was another amazing day, starting from the sudden change of weather to the smooth running of planned activities.
I'm hoping to have a better day tomorrow .

I'll like to invite @nahela, @f2i5, @sahmie, and @wilmer1988 to participate.

Thanks so much dear friend, for visiting my post. Your words are highly valued

I mostly do the breakfast of bread as I like bread very much. But I have listened the name of that dish akara first time as here in my country it is not available. I always eat bread with peanut butter of tea. You had a great day. Keep writing.

Thank you so much for visiting my post. Maybe you should consider ordering Akara online to your country or rather come over to mine. I mine, the level of yummy in Akara is heavenly

Your job is very noble, which is helping your neighbors repair broken pipes. I also share posts about diaries, if you have time please see them and I am very happy.

I use the same person because I don't want to go through the process of describing how to cut my hair.
Nice write-up, your day was eventful and I am happe you did good helping the neighbor fix the bad pipe.
I did some repairs myself and if you will love to see it, just follow this link.
