The Diary Game [21/03/2026] // Weekend with Sudden Darkness, and Simple Joys.
Hi guys, accept special Steem greetings from the motherland of Cameroon, and welcome to my blog, where I share lifestyle content with you all.

Saturday always begins before the sun fully stretches its arms across. Today was no different as I woke up to the soft hum of early morning life and the quiet determination that weekends are never truly for resting especially not for a mother preparing for the week ahead.
By 6 a.m., I was already preparing to head to the market. The air was fresh, but the market itself was alive, voices calling out prices, the scent of fresh produce, and the familiar bargaining dance. I moved from stall to stall, picking the best fresh vegetables, spices, and a few treats for the children. There’s something satisfying about knowing your kitchen is stocked and ready to face Monday.

Back home, the real work began. I set the pot on the fire and started preparing fufu corn. Alongside it, I cooked huckleberries, seasoned just right, filling the house with a rich, comforting aroma. By the time lunch was ready, I was already tired but it was the good kind of tired, the kind that comes with accomplishment.

I had been looking forward to the afternoon. Football matches lined up, a chance to finally sit, relax, and cheer like I used to. But just as I settled in the darkness boom. The power went out without warning, no television, no commentary, no excitement. Just silence and I won’t lie, it turned what could have been a lively afternoon into a rather dull one.

Thankfully, the day did not remain entirely uneventful. My sister-in-law dropped by unexpectedly, carrying a bowl of fried dry corn and peanuts. What a delight as we sat together, chatting and laughing, nibbling on the crunchy snack that somehow makes any conversation warmer. It’s funny how such simple things, good company and familiar tastes can lift your mood.
Even so, the blackout lingered, cutting the day shorter than expected. Without light or much to do, the evening crept in quietly, wrapping up the day sooner than I would have liked.
And so ends my weekend diary, simple, a little frustrating, but still touched with moments of warmth. Until my next entry, I wish everyone a splendid weekend.

Ah! @chant, your meals always drive me crazy. How I wish I can prepare that huckleberry and how I wish am close to have a test of it. Your day was actually achieved.
