Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani is the Emir of the State of Qatar since June 25, 2013 after his father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani abdicated the throne.

He is considered one of the most prominent young Arab leaders and has led Qatar through a period of major local and regional changes while strengthening his country’s international role.

Place of Birth: Doha, Qatar

Marital Status: Married and has children — he is active in Qatar’s social and sports spheres.

🔹Early Life and Education:

Tamim bin Hamad was born into the ruling Al Thani family and received his basic education in Qatar before continuing his studies in the United Kingdom.
He attended Sherborne School in the UK, then joined the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, graduating in 1998, where he received military training that marked the beginning of his career.

🔹Career and Positions:

On August 5, 2003, he was appointed Crown Prince of Qatar, and became Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces, which prepared him for national leadership.

On June 25, 2013, he officially became Emir of Qatar after his father’s abdication, marking the beginning of his own era of leadership.

Under his leadership, Qatar has continued to play a key role in the global economy, international sports (notably hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup), and regional diplomacy, expanding its influence and soft power.
