It has remained between -10 and -14 for the last week. Looking out in the yard reminds me of how lucky we are!

Brrrrrr and I thought we had it cold where I'm at. Not even close to what you've got going on. Wow! Throw another log or two into the wood stove and keep warm my brother! -14 is no joke! I hope the chickens can find some comfort somehow ? I know when I'm cold to the core it ain't no fun. I think I'd rather be too hot than cold myself.
Maybe I should have qualified: the temps are in Celsius

Haha! That makes more sense. Whew! I thought we had ourselves a "Bri-cicle" there for a few. Was worried for ya'. Yeah I can deal with heat better than cold. Being chilled to the bone is no fun.
I just finished two hours of snow blowing.....had it was Fahrenheit it would have been Bri-cycle!
Poor chicks. It rarely gets that cold here. Mind seem okay apart from a lot of mud in their run
The birds seem to handle the cold fairly well. We don't heat the barn and it is not insulated. We do keep their water heated so it doesn't freeze though.
They're tough!
We had to take the water in some nights to stop it freezing. It's amazing they cope so well as they are originally jungle birds.
Glad you pointed out this little known fact. It seems most just think they've been around forever and have no idea of their origins.
We're also in the minus double digits here in NS, I feel so bad for my chickens too! They're really tough though, they just hunker down and fluff out and wait it out. I need to invest in a heated waterer, I've been refilling theirs numerous times a day. I don't have an outside plug though...
We are in NS as well so we're in the same boat weather wise. We run an outdoor extension cord from the house to the barn for the winter and it saves us a few trips out to the barn. In previous years, like you, we had to make several trips to keep their water flowing.
Looks like were in for some more snow for the next few days. Time to hunker down some more!

Is that Celsius or Fahrenheit? Because I can almost handle -14 Celsius (briefly, followed by a long nap in front of the fire), but -14 Fahrenheit is just too cold for man or beast!

En Venezuela no hay este tipo de clima y a nosotros nos parece angelical y encantador. No obstante, no puedo imaginar cómo se siente. Pero, sin lugar a dudas, somos afortunados donde quiera que estemos.
Seguramente no te estás perdiendo nada cuando hace tanto frío.
