@strangerarray, it's possible. Hops love some good ol heat. I'm sure it gets pretty hot where you live. Out my way it can get up to 100' in summer. But my hops are soaking in the sun and doing great! Give them a try. They are very low maintenance and will grow back year after year. Let me know if you'd like more tips or start some up. Cheers!

Hop cuttings are called rhizomes. Buy them in early spring from a local homebrew shop that sells them or from Amazon or even online sites. They sprout quickly and like to climb so plant them near some sort of trellis. Within a few months they'll be climbing and budding.
