Oh, I had a PayPal account years ago too, and ever since it caused nothing but trouble and I ended up losing a fair bit of money, I’ve been avoiding the lot like the plague. And yes, unfortunately, what they do is legal. Perhaps you could use Western Union or MoneyGram in future.
Later it striked me that I could have used Western Union which is 2 blocks away from my home.
My account did not even get verified and still the data is with them and stays 😑 ridiculous practices
