I couldn't think who Christopher Nolan was, and looked him up. I have only seen "The Dark Knight" which was so super-extraordinarily good. I always tell people that the Joker by Heath Ledger cost him his life and you are left feeling, how to say this without coming across as a psychopath, it wasn't in vain. Seriously the most powerful performance possible. Or impossible in this case.
