Pretty sure they ended up saying that this iron dome launch was a misfire. i.e. there were no rockets fired this time and it shot for some different reason .
Having said that I was there during the 2014 war and the umbrella of safety which you feel is immense when the iron dome is out there protecting you!
After the fact, I also heard it was a manner of misfire, but that the system was responding to Hamas drills where something was obviously launched, seemingly from multiple positions. Since the distance is so small, and the IDF couldn't have known they were merely drills, it's probably wise to have the system "misfire." Even just as a deterrent, I think it still saves lives. Oh for sure . I agree 100% always better safe than sorry when it comes to national security!
