My Story Today: Making Sticky Rice Cake From My Mother's Recipe

Hello Steemians lovers.
Today I want to share my activity today: making sticky rice sponge cake. Well, it seems like sticky rice sponge cake isn't that common anymore, but today I really wanted to make it. So I ended up making a sponge cake filled with melted cheese.

First, I melted the margarine and cooking oil. Next, I made the cheese filling and sweetened condensed milk, then mixed it well.

Put it in a round plastic bag. Next, I mixed the eggs and granulated sugar.
Mix until white, stiff, and thick. Then, add the sticky rice flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.

For a beautiful result, I used dark cocoa powder. Mix it briefly, just until it's evenly mixed.

Then, I added the oil that I had melted with the margarine.

Then I added the sweetened condensed milk. Mix it briefly and stir again, making sure nothing settles on the bottom. Pour it into a baking pan that I have greased with margarine.

Only partially pour the batter into the pan, my friend. Then I steamed it for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, I took it out and made a hole in the center, then sprinkled cheese in the center.

Next, I poured in the remaining batter, and it was ready to be steamed again. Use a medium oven and steam for 30 minutes, or until cooked through.

Once it's cooked, I just removed it from the pan; we can take it out while it's still hot. The complete recipe is below.

  • 100 grams margarine

  • 100 grams oil

  • 5 eggs

  • 160 grams sugar

  • 1 tsp sp

  • 150 grams spreadable cheese

  • 4 tbsp sweetened condensed milk

It looks delicious! Thanks for sharing this recipe! I really like the look of this dark cocoa cake, it looks charcoal colored. I didn't know about it. I'll look for it in my local supermarket. I can even imagine this cake topped with whipped cream! The color contrast will be interesting. It would also be nice to make some muffins :)

The black color is due to the addition of black glutinous rice flour. This is the first black sponge cake I've ever made. Thankfully, the cake is delicious and looks quite nice.
