[Whole30 Diet] Day 8 - YASSSSSS Coffee!!

in #life8 years ago

My oldest stayed home, sick, from school today and I had my hands full, so first breakfast was a quick orange to quell the beast that was growling inside my stomach.

Eventually I was able to fry two eggs in ghee, wilt spinach in the same pan and slice an avocado. Easy, peasy.

After I wrestled, I mean rocked the baby down for her nap I had this snack.

sliced apple and almond butter

I'm telling you, I eat all day. A short while later I made this "taco" salad from left overs.

To be honest, I was dragging backside all day today. Too many 5 hour nights and I just wanted coffee. After an hour or two of hemming and hawing I eventually convinced myself to do it.

The creamer was an extremely simple mixture of 2 dates and a 1/4 cup of coconut milk.

Pure. Joy.

I was like a bull let out of the chute after that. It's been 7 days with no sugar, caffeine or quick energy food-surges and I was probably more obnoxious than my beautiful children for a good hour. I did notice that I became rather hot during that time. I wonder what caused that?

Oh, but caffeine is such a wonderful drug. I'm glad I can drink it in moderation.

Later our fam went out to dinner with some gift cards for a restaurant we never visit. Chili's.

I ordered a grass-fed burger with a fried, cage-free egg and asked them to hold the cheese, signature sauces and bun. I also added avocado for an upcharge and replaced starch with broccoli. This is what came out.

I can't say this will be winning any presentation awards.

It was also supposed to come with bacon but I wasn't upset that they forgot it because I'm sure It wasn't fully compliant in whatever way that it was cured. That up charged avocado was looking pretty sad though. The egg white was also a bit under-cooked and gloopy. I later learned, when my boyfriend mentioned the bacon issue to the waitress, that this was their second attempt at frying that egg. When I mentioned that it wasn't fully cooked the second time, they, very kindly, offered to take this item off of our bill. Okay, thanks +$12!

Later we went to WholeFoods which is pretty rowdy on Friday nights. Lots of wine glass carrying women telling us how cute our completely out of control children were. I got some more coconut milk since I never know when I'm going to need need it these days. The kids filled tiny carts with scented soaps and yoga mats.

I'm going to try to get more sleep tonight and see what it does for my energy levels tomorrow.

Onward to day 9!

can't start my mornings without a good cup of joe.. !!

I know! I was trying to REALLY let my body do a major reset but coffee is just so amazing!

Amazing looking food. I am in week 3 of a 12 week whole foods daily eating program following the Dr Sebi suggested electric and alkaline food list. I hope to find an ultimate plan that I can sustain so it becomes normal behaviour. So far so good. :) Will do an update blog later today. The first two weeks I found myself eating the wrong foods that I thought were healthy (hybrids/GMO) and with some new research I feel I have found solutions that will work for me and my clients. It is exciting. Nothing better than eating the food and water we were really meant to consume. It is all about energy!

I've checked out that diet! Kudos to you for trying it! I might have given it a shot for a day or two this summer but MAN is it strict (and my heart wasn't in it yet). I feel conflicted on this diet because I know there are things that Sebi is against that this plan allows (like red meat, yes?). I'm being easy on myself though and appreciating the attempts I'm making rather than the ones I'm not. I look forward to seeing how your program goes! I know it's a good one!

It is actually not as hard as I thought however the 2nd week was harder than the first. Went to teh markets today and stocked up on all local produce and non GMO's. Very liberating. I am looking forward to eating more of these electric and alkaline foods. We should just eat for health however I feel the main goal for many people is to ensure the right qty of nutrient dense food for each meal. Eating in preparation of their lifestyle and energy output. I hope to inspire others with my choices and lets see if we can promote change. :) I will be watching your page as it aligns with my philosophy. Have a good day.

Thanks! I'll watch yours too. Good luck!!!
