A unique gift of nature
In our rural Bengal, it is commonly known as 'Kalkasunda' or 'Kasunda'. Scientific name Cassia occidentalis. This plant, which grows neglected on the banks of ponds and roadsides, not only enhances the beauty of nature, but also has some great properties. The stem of the tree is light dark green in color and the leaves are neatly arranged. Bright yellow flowers bloom in clusters on the upper part of the stem, which catches the eye from a distance. Just below the flowers, a curved, narrow green fruit or seed pod is visible, which is one of the ways to identify this plant.
The leaf juice is traditionally used to relieve ringworm, itching or any skin disease. The root and leaf extract provides relief from colds, coughs and respiratory problems. Its moderate use to relieve various stomach disorders and constipation is quite ancient. Every tiny plant that grows in nature carries some quality or the other. In the midst of modern concrete, preserving such native and herbal plants is very important for protecting our biodiversity.

I've never seen a plant like this before, how do you harvest the juice from the leaves for its medicinal properties? 🌿💚
I think I’ve seen this flower in the countryside before.
