The Launch of "Steem Monsters" - A Resounding Success
I'm sure most of you reading this would have by now tested out the release of the much anticipated Steem Monsters. Proving to be already a hugely popular card collecting game thus far, now we are able to put them to use on the battlefield and to be honest, I'm very impressed with the results...

Considering this is the first generation deployment of the game and how much untapped scope there is to build on, I'm staggered by what the incredible team of @aggroed and @yabapmatt have come up with. People must bear in mind, this is a strategy card game based on "deck building". I was hearing through the grapevine yesterday that some were complaining about the mechanics of play being automated to randomly declare a winner at the end. Nothing could be further from the truth. The summoner you choose, the teams you outfit and positions you place them in on the battlefield, all add up to determining factors as to whether you win or lose. The following animations are all related to your previous decisions before pressing the "Battle" button. And I gotta tell you, I'm already hooked and see this entertaining application as having the potential to get really big!
One of the aspects I love the most is the seamless way online battles are found and matched up. So far, I've had no issues whatsoever with any game I've ever played (apart from a few rage quitters and yes, you know who you are, lol!). In addition to that, team balancing appears quite well tuned, but the more experienced players out there will know more than I in that particular area. But overall I found the games fun and, most importantly, very addictive. Another awesome feature is the ease of playability. Anybody can start fighting within seconds of logging on to the Steem Monsters website as the interface is intuitive and easy to understand. Though after several games, it becomes clear that winning games, especially after working your way up the ranks to harder matches, requires a new level of complexity. It's all about fine-tuning that perfect combination in order to offer up the greatest challenge to your opponent and trust me, that's easier said than done.
Add to the mix the fact that weekly prizes are up for grabs in specially organised tournaments and you've got something rather special on your hands. Listen guys, you've got to hand it to these two. They've done a stellar job in producing a work of art that will no doubt gain the "attention" in the crypto world. Remember, Crypto Kitties, anyone? Lol, I'd rather forget about it than anything else. Our game is leagues ahead of the competition and we've only just begun! I haven't found many (if any) flaws to mention, but even if some may rear up later down the line, always be civil and give this ingenious duo the respect and patience they deserve. With the "game lore" being the next major upcoming component in the works, the possibilities are almost endless in regards to honing the game and maintaining user interest. No wonder I played until 2am last night. I'm sure that won't just be a one off!
Providing the Steem blockchain with relevance and showcasing what can be achieved, is paramount to us as a collective if we wanna see the infinite greatness of this place unlocked. I believe this is but the first in a long line of Dapps to be released in the future to give even more value to the Steem blockchain. And what a way to start! Steem Monsters have paved the way for others to follow. Oh yes, amazing things are about to happen. :)

It is a blast to play this, specially when you need to start calculating in higher level monsters and new abilities they unlock. I needed to open my wallet and start buyin, that pay to win aspect could be something not many regular low paygrade players will like, but there will definitely be a market for this game. Love it.
Defo, buddy. It's got all the hallmarks of being a huge hit. I can certainly see a bright future ahead. And so glad to hear you're loving it too.
See you on the battlegrounds! :)
Well looks like I will have the rest of my day planned out after I get off of work.
Looks like it might turn into a daily routine. :)
