I suggest you try it then, go chasing something with a knife and kill it, dont make it suffer, make it as quick as possible, then eat it. Its a religious experience.
take a handgun with you just in case, i dont want you getting hurt.
Does fishing count? I have caught a bass, cleaned it myself, cooked it and then ate it.
