Mindfulness Over Meditation...Here's Why.

Mindfulness Over Meditation...Here's Why..png

Have you noticed lately there's a trend to over-prescribe meditation?

It seems to be a recommended fix for everything to sickness, mental health issues to finding peace and happiness.

Meditation definitely has positive effects but taken too far there are risks...too much of anything isn't necessarily good.

So what are the limitations we experience with meditation?

It's challenging👊

I wouldn't say it's difficult but it's going to take a long time and commitment to master. Many of us find it even hard just to sit and be with our thoughts, haven't you also?

We're not really sure how to breathe and how to manage our body best when trying it. If we've experienced any kind of trauma then meditation is a rabbit hole with difficulties.

However, most of us might know a Bhuddist monk or yoga expert with years of experience who are able to draw profound insights, deep states of being and results.

And I imagine it to be the same as anything else we decide to commit to and master, it get's easier and we get better.

The thing is though, must of us just don't have the time or the commitment to mastery or becoming a Bhuddist monk for that matter.

We also don't need to attend these hard-core and intense retreats that require all day meditation. It's not going to prepare you for or make it easier to get back to every day life and only set up up for a potential mental breakdown, especially if there's trauma or high stress involved.

Meditation should be used moderately and appropriately, and definitely not intensely.

There is a better way, a safer more practical alternative.

A terrific option is to strive for a little more mindfulness.

We can practice mindfulness anywhere at anytime without having to roll out the yoga mat or enter the 'quiet' room.

Try it when walking, exercising, eating and doing housework.

It's great for stress reduction, increases awareness as we just focus on our body as we relax our breathing and get a little more attuned to our senses.

We can of course increase our skills with a structured breathing technique but it's not necessary if you'v already found what works best for you.

We'll find that we become that much more grounded and integrated into the real world and every day life.

Whether we have a couple of minutes or an hour, do what you can, when you can.

Think of it also like a prayer.. 🙏🙏🙏

We don't have to follow any religion to experience the power of a prayer. We can pray for ourselves, our hopes and dreams as well as our family and those that matter most.

It takes just a few moments to send out our best thoughts and wishes out into the world.

A Wellness coach or Life coach can also help with developing the skill of daily mindfulness.

It can be incredibly powerful to uncover any unconscious beliefs and behaviours that might be holding you and your business back.

We don't have to be religious or spiritual to practice daily mindfulness and with the guidance of a coach we can expect to increase our focus and clarity, with boosted productivity with a focus on greater well-being and better work-life balance.

Helping you move towards your best self and full potential. 💚
