Stop spending money unnecessarily! 10 tips!
You'll never be able to live that comfortable lifestyle, quit your nine to five, or even become a crypto-millionaire if you don't apply these money management tips. A lot of people drive nice cars (that they not really own) and live in nice houses (that they not really own), and they're pretty much this guy. Do you want to be this guy? No? Keep reading!
1. If you live in a society like mine, where it seems like everyone's biggest dream is to own a big house and redecorate it every two years - you just got to let it go. Just don't take up a huge loan and pour your money into real estate. You want to be rich or live a free life? Don't waste your money on a home that is too big. Especially if you live in a country with a housing bubble (like mine)
2. You like cars? I do. Do I own a fancy car? Hell no. We're a family of three and we own a 3 year old hatchback. Why exactly a three year old car? Because that means the least problems with it, plus a car loses most of its value the first three years. PLUS there's still 2 years left of the warranty. Own it for two years, problem free, then sell it and buy another three year old car. UNLESS you know how to work on a car. If you're like me, and the only thing you can do with a car other than drive it, is to scrape ice of the windows and fill it up with gasoline, go for this solution. If you don't have a kid - you could probably go for a motorcycle or a shit car also.
3. Use credit cards with bonuses. I use at least 5 different credit cards. I get 3% off groceries on one card, 4% of gasoline on another etc. You use credit cards to save money, not to go into debt.
4. If you live under communism like I do in Norway, where you have to pay a fee to the state owned television network in order to own a TV (not joking) you don't own a TV. You watch tv-shows on your computer. Besides, the less tv-time, the more time for work.
5. Buy groceries once a week. Plan your meals ahead and make it a sport to make it last.
6. Regularly check the interest rate on your mortgage, and be on the lookout for banks with lower rates.
7. Do the same with your insurances
8. Don't buy food on the go. It's healthy to feel hungry now and then.
9. Bake your own bread! You take yeast, water, oil, salt and flour and you mix it to a dough. Put something over the bowl and let it stand somewhere for 10-20 hours. Put it in something and cover it with your tinfoil hat, and put it in the oven for 35 minutes on 250degrees celcius. Take the tinfoil hat off and put it on your head, and let the bread stand for another 15 minutes. Done. My record is a total working time of 1 minute and 56 seconds. We save more than 70$ a month just on bread. You're welcome.
10. Just don't buy shit unless you really need it. It's really simple.
Now you can spend the money you save on your new business idea, your side hustle, or leverage your Steemit-account. Buy some stocks, gold, silver, ammo..anything that's useful. You'll be amazed how much it adds up to. I save/invest more than 60% of my income.
I really like nubers 8 and ten. :)
An last years is about do not have money in the bank, buy crypto and use crypto. ;)
Yeah, number ten is definitely the best :) I agree, but however I would have some buffer on a high yield account, money which is super liquid. There are so few places you can use cryptos. I also like to have some cash laying around just in case.
Actually, here is lots of places where I can pay with crypto and also lots of eshops too :)
Yea just save and invest in Cryptos/BTC's and everything will be fine in the future :) Nice post btw!

@Styxer Thanks!
Love it. A word of caution about mortgage rate chasing though - the closing/admin costs can be a killer. I questioned my 3.75% when the rates dropped a bit below, but it wasn't worth it with all costs considered.
I'm all about the cash back credit cards too. I mainly redeem the points for gift cards, and that's our "play" money, for the occasional dinner out or a movie.
Thanks for sharing!
Good point! The fees are very low in Norway so I didn't consider that of course it can be different other places. My bad! :)
Thanks for tje great advice! My family spends a lot of money in bread too, kust to let half of it go bad. Dude... You're something like a unicorn!
Thanks! Is bread insanely expensive in the us as well? Its like 5$ for a shitty bread here. Homemade delicious bread on the other hand is more like 50 cents per bread.
Intermittent fasting is healthy, so no. 8 is a good one!
And no. 3 is smart! Good post :)
Thank you! :)
I agree with all of this. I'm from the US so I never knew about the TV thing you mentioned. I also have not had/bought an alcoholic drink in almost a year and unbelievably, that saved me A LOT of $$$.
Good man. Hmm..it's also good to have something to cut further down on if you need it in times of economic distress..thats why i drink and use smokeless tobacco (snus) ..in an emergency i can save probably another 300$ a month 😆
