Mountain Monday: Friday's Drive to the End of the Road
Homer End of the Road
As promised on Sunday, a bit more of our Friday Drive. It was not easy picking three pictures to show, especially when it is mountain Monday, and well I got quite a few mountain pictures that day. I know only two pictures, but you said thee pictures, well there really are three pictures, you see I had a couple that went together nicely in a pano shot. Oh and I have been on occasion say a 400mm lens, well I goofed it is only a 300mm lens, but I still really like it.

It was hard deciding which one to put first so the single image, I mean what more could a person want in a picture. A boat, birds blue water, and some really really gigantismus boulders in the background. Need I say more, well yeah, but then you may go a bit crazy staring at the picture. I mean look at those shadows on the picture, just a quick glance and you can see the top of Batman's cowl and the pointy ears, and speaking of eras do I need to point out Mickey Mouse's ears? Well enough about the shadows.
Now here is the panoramic shot, two images of the mountains stitched together. The little building part you see is part of the Lands End Resort. to see the mountains on the other side of the building you need to go inside or take a boat ride.

The "Big Picture" is pretty wide you may have to scroll to see it all. I did have to crop a little and level a little but that was after making the pano image. I think so far one of my better attempts, i wish I had taken a few more images to add, but I was mostly think of birds.

#mountainmonday is another tag featured by @keithboone. He has the work week fixed for us, Start with #mountainmonday, and then spend the rest of the week on a snipe hunt to feature in #featheredfriday.

I really love that first shot because there is a lot of depth to it. Both in the mountains themselves, and then because of the small boat providing a foreground. Excellent work! Thank you for posting in Mountain Monday! voted & resteemed :-)
One thing is clearly evident from these photos, @bashadow—one of these days, I need to make it up that way. :)
I am always impressed by scale. It's the hardest thing to capture in an image, which I think you've done as good as possible when taking a three dimensional view and putting it into a two dimensional format. I get frustrated any time I try to show depth because it all seems to go flat. The heights have to be really high, and the lows need to be really low.
I guess that's why they make movies in 3D (albeit, not so great), and IMAX and other formats—to attempt to give perspective. Still, in my experience, nothing can beat being there.
I got lucky that a boat was passing by, but that is a good area to get some foreground action and have a real nice background at the same time, and it does look a lot better in person.

I also think mostly of birds, but those shots are spectacular!
