Extremely underfed baby of 1.9 kilo dies after 34 days starving in Syria

East Ghouta, a district not far from Damascus, is an enclave owned by Syrian rebels, however, entirely surrounded by President Assad's government forces.
In the area there has been fighting for months and even years, with the civilian population as the main victim.
Rescuers call out for attention after the horrific pictures of underfed babies and children that have ben released the past few days. They blamed the Assad government to conduct a real hunger war. The neighborhood is fully surrounded, the help of the United Nations is rejected 9 out of 10 times.

Approximately 376,000 citizens are stuck in East Ghouta. According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SOHR), 397 civilians have died in Eastern Ghouta, 206 of them are children. The UN organization OCHA Syria announced yesterday that in September only 8.1 percent of citizens in occupied territories had access to aid. In October, this figure dropped to 0.3 percent.
