Exactly @hueso... What the media is doing at the moment ( have been for a while) is bomb us with useless information and A LOT of negative news... This is done on purpose. There is so much news that people can't keep up. It confuses and that way most people don't question it. Every now and then, they throw in something major that has people go: WTF? And then you never hear about it again... That confuses even more. I'll give you an example: A couple of years ago, one of the mainstream media channels in my country (Holland) reported of structures found on the bottom of the ocean just off the coast of Cuba. The structures were supposedly made with some kind of metal... I heard this clearly on the radio. When I told people and asked them if they heard it, no one had and some even thought I must have dreamed it. Until later, a friend told me he heard it too. Now, you'd say this is major news right? Wrong. I never heard about it again, and never even found anything about it online, on their site or elsewhere... They do these kinds of things to confuse people.
Then, when they throw in some 'terrorist attacks' (I could write a book about those) and people believe it because they're too confused to even question it or do their own research about it. I'm sure there are other reasons, but this is one of the main ones...
