QSC-S29/W3- Nostalgia Of The Liitle Me : Childhood Food Memories
Childhood memories is so lovely to live without and so I always make it my priority to join this contest so as to share my thoughts and my feelings about my childhood memories this week was not exceptional.
What childhood food or dish do you still remember clearly, and why is it special to you?
I still remember spaghetti jollof, it was so special that each time it is prepared, we were so happy and will finish our portion.
I remember clearly, how we used to sing while helping mum in the kitchen to prepare this meal for us. The same still happens now with my daughter how she will be so excited to eat spaghetti. So she always look for how and what to help me with in the kitchen.
The taste of this spaghetti jollof that time was nothing to compare with now, the quality and the ingredients used left us with nice memories.
Who usually prepared this food for you, and how did it make you feel at that time?
Oh my mum like preparing this for me and my siblings. This makes me feel so special to her and I felt that love of a mum, how she will make it her priority to wake up very early in the morning, prepare a meal for the three of us. Then packed in our lunch packs, It wasn't that easy but she always do it.
So at that time I felt that my mum really loves us that's the reason she will go for what we like and she will make it a priority to make us go to school with a lunch bag with food inside. So I feel loved cherished and cared for.
When and where did you usually eat it (home, school, village, special occasions)?
I usually eat it both at home and also in the school because my mum like preparing this for us to take it to school in our lunch bag.
It's faster to prepare and easy to carry along with so the easygoing is the reason why my mum like preparing this for us to go to school with.
What emotions come back when you think about the taste, smell, or moment?
I do remember back then when my mum Will cook with firewood then immediately when she bring down the pots.
The three of us will gather with our plates to get our own, then while waiting for the food we will be tasting and giving stories and imaginary story things that cannot real.
And at this time, my dad will be listening to news in the background BBC news was his favourite station.
So while my dad is listening to the radio station my mum will be echoing "I know you people are happy to eat this but then stop telling stories that are not real stop imagining them".
And at this point we will be imagining how we collect our food and then while taking it to where the table is the food will fall off our hands and pour all in the ground.
So this brings back that love, that warm, that genuine generous heart, happiness that feelings of being cared for.
Is this food still part of your life today, or does it remain only as a memory?
This food is still part of my life today as I do cook it for me and my family. In fact my daughter likes it too and I do also prepare for her as a lunch at school.
The taste, the aroma the chewables inside makes it appetising and you always think of the food.
Little wonder she does finish it when she go to school. This morning I prepared this for her school lunch bag. So follow along let me show you how I prepared this yummy spaghetti with fish and egg.
I fried the tomato and the onions very well
I added the Titus fish and fried as well, added seasoning, pepper and spices.
Added the parboiled spaghetti to the pot and stir consistently until the ingredients is properly mixed.
Food is ready | Well packed for school |

This her dressing with school bag school lunch bag reminds me of my childhood memories. I really appreciate my mum and I called her on this day to tell her how much I loved her because I now see and understand what she went through each day for us.
So my daughter reminds me so much of my childhood days. This reminder always left me with so much joy, love and peace as I am satisfied that I've also made her enjoyed her childhood same way I did.
Thank you for going through my post, I will like to invite @wirngo @goodybest and @lirvic to take part in this contest
