Nothing like a Farmers Market.
Summertime always brings several trips to the farmers markets for me. There is nothing like buying produce that was picked within the last 24 hours and Pueblo, Colorado has some of the most fertile soil in the country for growing. The Arkansas River Valley has always had great growing conditions and plenty of water to keep Southern Colorado flush with fresh produce.
Today I made a trip to Musso Farms in Pueblo County to scoop up some goods at prices cheaper than the grocery store.
A wide range of fruits and veggies are grown locally so finding everything you want is pretty easy and it's not grown in a hot house and you can even see it growing right across the street.
The main cash crop here is Pueblo Hot Green Chile but lots of varieties grow well in the region. The smell of roasted chilies can make a person want to buy them even of you dont like hot food. It can be smelt for miles and miles around these parts.
The kids can even take rides on the veggies at Musso Farms!
Most all of the farms in Pueblo were settled by Italian families believe it or not. This golf cart must be fun to drive giving tours of the farm and all it has to offer us.
If you ever find yourself in southern Colorado out in Pueblo county, make sure to stop by one of the several farms along the roadsides to get some fresh food!

Fresh stuff is always nice. Do you guys have Cherries? Very expensive here in Singapore. The fresh market looked like a chili farm.. lots of variety. Can buy some and make your on spicy sauce at home ;) delicious !
Cherries are everywhere here right now. A pretty large back is about 30 bucks
Farmer's are the key of your basic economics, its need to build some market for them where they can easily sell their product without hassles, your journal is quite meaningful.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
That looks like quite the market. Those green chilies sound amazing. I've never cooked with chilies before but I'd give it a shot if I could find fresh ones

So far I’ve been to the Farmers Market in Cherry Creek, Boulder, and Lafayette. I haven’t tried any further than those yet, but I bet the farmers markets are cheaper further south!

Hello @brontnuzt, how are you doing? Yes ... you are right ... this place is not like the farmers market. The place is very clean and neat. I think this place can be developed as an agricultural tourism. Have a nice day, sir.
