Best Shows for Toddlers on Netflix
We try not to rely too heavily on television as a learning tool for our toddler, preferring one on one interaction and books, but it is undeniable that there are plenty of programs out there these days that are educational, captivating, and interactive. As far as netflix goes, we love these show for our little guy:
Super Why!
This PBS program is our 2 year old’s favorite show. He probably enjoys it for the caped and masked heroes that solve mysteries by delving into story books. We love it because it engages him in basic reading skills and familiarity with the alphabet and phonic
Ask the StoryBots
Ask the StoryBots is visually engaging for our son, and sometimes I find myself laughing at the little witty jokes that probably escape his grasp for now. Colorful and entertaining, this show follows the adventures these curious robots embark on in pursuit of the answer to a question.
Sesame Street
There is a reason this show has been running for half a century. Sesame street was the first educational program for children, and their beloved characters are continuing to teach children everything from the ABCs to good manners to this day.
Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood
Living in the same magical neighborhood conceived of by the wonderful Mr. Rogers, Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood exposes young children to social and emotional concepts such as sharing, anger, and voting.
The Magic School Bus
This show that I loved in my youth, now is a part of my son’s childhood. It’s entertaining while being educational about many scientific facts, like the mechanics behind digestion and the ins and outs of the natural world.
