The carnival ride

in #philosophy7 years ago

From a Steemit thought perspective today, it has been very hectic and I was forced (by choice) to think in areas that are unfamiliar and a times relatively quickly to get what I processed into words. It was awesome.

Yes, there are all kinds of various behaviors, technical vulnerabilites, loopholes to scam and so many other things that threaten out future position that needed to be sorted out. And for me, herein lies a massive beauty.

Those that choose get to play in ways that the real world rarely offers individuals. The scope and spread available to work with, think through, attempt to problem solve is incredible and there really is something for everyone if people actually want to give it a go.

So many come here to earn a few dollars doing what they know or, interact with a range of people from all over the world. That is great but, there is so, so much more on offer. In many ways, it is like a carnival with sideshows where you can choose what to experience or try for a prize.

You can go to the shooting gallery, or the 'everybody wins' pick a duck from the pool game. You might want to ride a roller coaster, the Ferris wheel or venture into the house of horrors. There is the cotton candy, hotdogs and baked potatoes on offer or any number of other activities that you can experience.

Much like a carnival, it is also better with friends to share experiences in a crowd of strangers to create atmosphere and a community of like minds. Even if only for a minute while it lasts, all on the are traveling the path together.

I love it here. I love days like this. I love being able to interact with many, think outside of my comfort zones, learn more and be part of the community. Even when it is covering topics that are negative and uncovering behaviors that can threaten us. For me, that is beauty, that is the romantic side of life, light versus dark, good versus evil. It is how great stories build and legends are made.

At times I seem down, depressed, pessimistic, other times optimistic and joyful. It is all part of the experience here for me and it is possible because I am interested, invested, active and very willing to throw my hat into the ring and play as hard as I can. It may not end in personal victory but I hope, it adds to the battle.

For me, this process of navigating experience through the blockchain has opened up whole worlds to explore I had never expected I would enjoy. It has tied what I am comfortable with to things I never knew existed and my understanding has developed on both sides. I now know more, I now act better, I now value community like I have not done before.

It has been hectic and it has been beautiful I hope tomorrow, the battle will rage again as it will be through this that we will find the way forward for better or worse. Victory nor defeat is certain but both outcomes will be delivered by us, the people.

How glorious is uncertainty? We know where the floor is, we are near living it every day in the real world but, we have no idea where the ceiling may be. So many seem intent on holding us in the mud while others look to fly. Who will prevail?

To quote myself and Sherlock Holmes from a conversation in chat regarding different types of people here:

They might fuck us all, we might stop them
The game is afoot.

Let's Play.

That's what I'm experiencing too since I bought my first crypto a few months back. I got to know the technology and took my time to read whitepapers, think about investment strategies, watch every video of the big crypto-youtubers, try to understand the basics of what all the triangles on technical analysis-charts meant etc. It was fascinating to experience the crash like we saw last month. Although I lost some money, it was super interesting to see the sentiment in the market change, the fear in the conversations, and now the resurgence of hope and FOMO since BTC is rallying above the 10k level again... Last week I decided to read up on Steemit and wanted to give it a try... And here we are. Another adventure, and again more awesome times ahead of us.

its a nice realization of your life's experience...we all have our ups and downs...but what matters most is how we get up and move forward...another wonderful write up @tarazkp

I'm glad I found you, your take on Steemit is a lot like mine, and it's motivating and inspiring since most of the people I talk to about it think it's a scam or they "don't have time", but, they have time to create content and post on other platforms for free.. lol

That's the spirit, once a while we need to move out from our comfort zone. Am sure it was fun all way round.

Steemit became the voice of the community, I agree with you sir @tarazkp its a roller coaster ride but the experience and learnings are indispensable:)It brings out the best within us.

nice excellent carnival pass that you had

great one. I feel as inspired as you do and I can feel it in your post. This is an exciting time and I was there at the dawn of the internet and dial up. I was fine waiting for it to connect and upload pics and it was SO exciting to be in on it from the beginning. The money part seems fun, but I wanted to be able to write about what was on my mind and here, I feel like I can. I want to meet like minded people not just gain followers on Facebook for business reasons. I'm happy to be here and learn and experience something in it's early stages!

You have been such an inspiration for me on Steemit and I am trying to follow your footsteps and became an influencer in the community.

How well you've taken a carnival ride
