or a bit different
Darum prüfe, wer sich ewig bindet, ob sich nicht etwas besseres findet!
means
Therefore, check who ties forever, if there is something better!
Those are both such good sayings which I hadn't heard before ;)
The first one is from Friedrich Schiller's Das Lied von der Glocke / Song of the Bell
The second is just a joke of it.
