The biggest feature of a grocery store.
Convenience and Trust
The biggest strength of a grocery store is its accessibility. While large malls or supermarkets are located in one corner of the city, a grocery store is located right outside your home or at the corner of the street. Here, customers don't have to wait in long lines. Often, a familial relationship develops between shopkeeper and customer, where the shopkeeper knows which brand is used in which household.
The Convenience and Flexibility of Credit
Even in today's digital age, the tradition of 'khata' (credit) or credit remains alive at grocery stores. This is a major support for middle-class and low-income families. Purchasing goods throughout the month and paying when the salary arrives is a result of mutual trust. Furthermore, goods are available here in even the smallest quantities (such as a packet of 5-10 rupees), which is not possible in large malls.
