Maybe? It smells like something, but I can't put my finger on it. Sweeter than a tire, but I'll give it some time after the rain to grow a little more.

Some varieties down here smell like a innertube, or old tire. The further north, i notice they smell better, more sweet.

I'm gonna be looking into the best growing conditions and how to replant it.

Wonder what's in your soil that makes it smell different...

The soil here is much more basic than acidic. Also there is longer durations between rainfalls. Maybe it has something to do with the critters that would eat it to the ground, not sure.

If you want to propagate it, you may look around the neighborhood and find some going to seed. Pull a couple that are about to let the seed lose and place them where you want more next year. I would allow the one you have to run its course, if it is where you want it.
