Fading Scribe
Writings on the wall.
Prophecying my fall.
My pens are suffocating.
Keypads became captivating.
I contemplate on my writes.
The agony that each syllable cites.
As I ease the weight of my mind.
Brewing lessons rare to find.
This age of screens irritates me.
Their obvious inability to just be.
Heads forever lowered on gadgets.
On the run from reality planets.
They ignore artists for selfies.
Unmoved by the dying bleeds.
A swipe twice as fast moving past.
No time to waste on a paragraphed vast.
My demons laugh uncontrollably.
Their sarcastic echoes boastfully.
Loud palms slapping in mid-air.
To amplify what my pens can't dare.
Mine:)

Thank you for coming.

Very musical and well structured stanzas. I like the message and agree with that a lot, I wrote a poetry too about raising our heads from this technological laces.. there's a lot of truth in what you wrote.
I believe print is dying and will continue to die as our reading culture evaporates with every new gadget we come up with. I hope we love ebooks as much as we love facebook.
Thank you for your read :)
The part about selfies made me think of the new Goggle phone. You only have to say selfie or take a selfie and it takes the pic. Electronics are making it easier to be less involved in your own life and the life around you. I'm saying this while my 4 and 5 year old sons are clued to their tablets. As much as I hate electronics I understand their appeal.
I appreciate technology because of it I have interacted with amazing souls that otherwise I never would've. But. We also need to revive art and especially appreciate those who write prose.
The advantage of your sons sometimes getting glued to their screens is they might learn a futuristic skill that we didn't need in our times :)
I agree on all points and yes that is why I don't mind it too much. I do however, try to make sure they get outside, art, play, and reading time.
