Runs ruined by unreliable technology
I get really irritated with technology that is supposed to work for us and is supposed to be more convenient than options we had in the past but a combination of making things too small and trying to create something cool and modern just combines with what is likely planned obsolescence and ends up pissing me off and ruining my motivation for running.
Headphones are a primary example of this for me. I have been through so many pairs of bluetooth headphones that I am about at my wits end as far as the whole thing is concerned.

These are the Soundcore P3 noise-cancelling headphones that retail for around $50 or so. I was hoping that finally something would work out for me and for the most part it does. IT has good sound quality despite not having a good high volume top end, good bass, it's basically waterproof or at least excessive sweat and rain proof. I wouldn't put them in a pool if I were you though.
The battery lasts a long time on them and honestly the bluetooth is really easy to use and holds a signal well.
So what's the problem? Well I'll tell you the problem, the problem is how they are charged and how this connection is something that is really easy to do wrong and perhaps that is by design.

These two tiny contact points charge the earbud inside the case and it should be easy enough since they are magnetic and the opposite end of them is spring loaded into place, plus the battery is not that big to begin with so charging doesn't take a load of time anyway.
The issue is that it doesn't give you any sort of indication as to whether or not the physical connection was actually successful or not so your guess is as good as anyone's when you put the damn thing in there about whether or not it is actually charging. There is no light, no meter, no battery percentage... nada, zip, nothing.
So when you pull them out of the cradle, all geared up and ready to go after motivating yourself to get off the sofa you fire them up in the stairwell as you are leaving your apartment with a fresh head of motivation only to the one side of them crap out before you even leave your house. Maybe I am being too fussy but I would rather run without either headphone than run with just one.
I wonder how other people handle this stuff because to me it just seems retarded that we don't have some sort of tiny light, some sort of something that indicates whether or not you have correctly made a connection that is going to charge it. There is no other reason to ever put them in that box so if it isn't going to charge correctly there is no friggin reason for that box to exist.
There are times that I feel as though these things are intentionally poorly designed so as to encourage more spending but if that is their idea over at Soundcore they will accomplish the exact opposite from me. I am about 2 failed runs away from chucking these things in the bin and then never having anything to do with the company again. I'm going to send them an email and give them a chance to address this because if this is standard, if this is just the way that it is... well I am not interested.
