Ork Hulk (Game 1) Turn 7

in #slothicorn8 years ago (edited)

It's total chaos on the left side!

This is a complex game, and while any new players are totally allowed to drop in at any point, we ask that you read the rules before deciding to play.

Game ends when a player picks up the Steem:

  • 2 Steem to the player that collects the Steem icon.
  • 2 Steem to the player with the most kills at the end of the game.

Oi! Youse boyz are getting kicked by dem udder boyz!
Start smashin' dem gud and proper!
Wez gotta find dat STEEM for da Mek!

Last turn

@urbangladiator and @pandorasbox took out the orks on the right corridor. @happyme is sprinting back with the biggest gun ever to help @pbock and @justatouchkey. Both players on the left corridor are locked in vicious hand to hand combat and @justatouchfey only has 1 wound left. Things are gonna get messy!

Quick Summary of rules relevant to this turn:

  • Players can move 5 squares in a turn.
  • Players can not occupy the same square as an enemy or another player.
  • Players can also choose to shoot or charge into hand to hand combat. A charging player moves 6 squares and gets a +1 to wound.
  • Players that charge an enemy already in hand to hand combat get a +1 to their roll for being an Additional Combatant.
  • Players can flee from close combat, but must roll a 4+. On a roll of 1, 2 or 3 they suffer a wound to represent being hit when their back was turned.
  • Players can find weapons or armour and pick them up by moving onto that square. Players can choose to pick up the new weapon or keep their current weapon.
  • Players will always keep their knife.
  • Players must stop on that square to pick up the new weapon... but can use it immediately.
  • Enemies have 1 wound.
  • Enemies will only move towards Players in their line of sight.
  • There is no friendly fire.

Turns

  • Players move first. Enemies move after all players have completed their actions.
  • Players will have 24 hours to list their actions in the comments.
  • Move turns are based on which players comment first.
  • After 24 hours the enemies will take their actions

Sort:

North 2 squares and East 3 squares! EEEE! RUUUUUUUN.

If you run you need to roll >3 or suffer a wound 😯

OMG I'm gonna die lol. Zombies are way easier than Orks. XD

I mean... dying isn't the end though...
You'll just pop through the teleportal again... ork boyz are numerous...

@justatouchfey rolls to flee from Ork 4 and Ork 5.
Needs two roles of 4+ to escape them both...
I'm going to roll two dice... if there are any roles of 1,2,3 then, um, kaputzie...

@rolltwodice

You blow on two 6-sided dice, and throw:

First die lands...
You rolled a 3.

Second die lands...
You rolled a 1.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh yikes.

Damn I'm gonna need some of @pbock 's skill.

Oh drat, I thought that there was a burna lying on the ground that the ork dropped! But looking back I now see I mistook the second ork's 'tag' as an item tag. Darnit! I had planned to pick it up whilst moving south but I see now that is no option.

So I guess I simply move 5 squares south! To see what is behind the corner..

Now that the fog of war is lifted... you've got some guys that are just in range with your frag grenade... I'd give it a throw if I was you... maybe you'll take 'em all out?

I'm just going to assume you're cool with lobbing frag grenades around.

Aim frag at Ork 13... Ork 12 and 14 caught in the blast too.
5+ to wound Ork 13 - @rollthedice

Shake shake shake, you roll the 6-sided die.

You rolled a 4.

Roll to wound Ork 12.
@rollthedice

Shake shake shake, you roll the 6-sided die.

You rolled a 6.

Ork 12 has been killed by the Frag Grenade. Well done.

Roll to wound Ork 14 - @rollthedice

Pandorasbox can throw grenades around the corner? Or is that Not considered a corner because she can see to the targets diagonally? I think we need to be clear on what is and is not allowed so we can plan properly.

Sorry, I realise it's not super clear.
I'm using a line of sight system to determine who can see what:

image.png

Basically, if a player piece or an enemy piece can draw a straight line to see any part of the other, then it's allowed.

UG wouldn't have been able to do the same:
image.png

In Warhammer 40K, the players literally crouch down and look from the piece's viewpoint to see if they can see the enemy, obviously we can't do that here, so I'm just drawing lines.

Thank-you for the clarification. This is good to know.

Looks like I'm late today. Sorry about that!
Move 5 spaces West.

No problems at all! Moved you now.

5 squares south

Hit him with the slugga @rollthedice

Shake shake shake, you roll the 6-sided die.

You rolled a 5.

Aaand splat

Well done! You rolled twice in two different posts and got him both times.

ESTEEM has some issues with deciding on which post you are sometimes 😑

Too bad I can't move 😑

If I could get that frag I could neutralise the bugger that's about to murder Fey !

Shake shake shake, you roll the 6-sided die.

You rolled a 1.

Hey @daclawboyz, great post! I enjoyed your content. Keep up the good work! It's always nice to see good content here on Steemit! Cheers :)

How far away can the Orks see? Why isn't the last (bottom right) Ork chasing anyone? 2 players were in direct line of sight.

@Justatouchfey: If you move West ONE space, they should see you and give chase. Then turn right around in the same turn and move back towards me so you are out of range for them to charge you. That way I can BLAST them and we clear out a path. That's the theory unless @pbock is locked into melee combat with them all and can't get away!

It wasn't a question of eyesight... with the shoota, Ork 4 was all set to shoot @justatouchfey but then couldn't because the other two rushed into close combat... and once they were in - you can't shoot when your own team is in melee. He's no good in close combat so he stayed there to pick her off if she managed to dispatch the rest of his team.

Great plan! Let's see what the enemy orks do...
