Proof of brain has the following two properties:

a pool of tokens dedicated to incentivizing content creation and curation (called the "rewards pool")

a voting system that leverages the wisdom of the crowd to assess the value of content and distribute tokens to it

Let's imagine an SMT with the following properties:

A pool of tokens dedicated to incentivizing real world performance of improv, music, art, dance, and theatre.
A voting system that leverages the wisdom of the crowd to assess the value of performance and distribute tokens to it

I agree it takes a re-imagining of value for most people. Steem has allowed the imagination to see it's possibility.
