I should make a point for me just participating in the discussion. I dislike having to resteem just for the sake of taking part in a contest. I prefer to keep my own blog page clean for my followers to use.
I still support you by upvoting and being here and I don't have a particular need for the price either, so it's all good.
On topic
I would prefer a son myself because I knew that I would be a cliched overprotective father if I would end up having a daughter and I would not enjoy that one bit.
That is probably the only point that speaks for one gender over the other for me regarding this question.
Thank god I'm not the only one that thinks that it's abusive to resteem just for the sake of taking part... I don't want to clutter my own blog page either
I had never seen it that way.
But I think you guys have a point.
So how do get your friend to know about the initiativesame you are excited about?
Personally I would tell them, I mean on my chat groups and so forth. I am not against resteeming, I'm against making it a condition. If I see a really interesting initiative I want people to know it, true, but for example I plan on posting ideas on trading and investment here in steemit... and most likely the people who will follow me are the people who are interested in those ideas (and many bots searching for upvotes). Resteeming is posting something on my feed for all my followers, and if they're interested in contests, they're sure to look at the contest feed and besides think on how you would feel by receiving tons of the same contest on your feed?. Maybe once Steemit changes how that works and shows the post only once no matter how often the people you follow resteem it it will be different, but right now I don't like forcing people to resteem in order to participate in a contest, it's just my opinion, though.
Thanks.
Opinion noted.
We will be looking into that.
It has been the steemit way. But I like innovation.
Do you runnung any contests yourself?
I like you, mate. You think in the right direction. And with "Right direction", I mean the same direction I am looking to.
I should have probably just replied to all of these comments in this parent in one big comment, but now I am commited to answering individually.
I answered that post in my most recent post as well. Ignore the shameless self-plugging, give it a look if you are interested.
TL;DR version would be to just actually combine or replacing resteeming by actually writing a blogpost about anothers post or the poster himself. I do that once every week, but I consider to do it once a day because it fits the spirit of #upvoteplankton and #minnowuprising.
In that case, you may end up loving my most recent blog post. I wanted to post about this topic for quite a long time, so I am glad to finally had the muse for doing so.
At long last.
Thank man,
I now understand.
You are then welcome to share your idea in any format.
Thanksfor giving your opinion.
Thus is a hot topic in my area.
The baby's sex is huge a huge concern for must families around the world in many cultures too.
Yeah, I know about that. It comes down to physical capability and outdated views on the value of genders. It's a rough topic, really.
Hahaha
Hahaha
A male child then.
Okay
Are your saying that the male child does not need to be protected?
Interesting question. If I raise my children right, neither of them will need all that much protection. With that being said, getting the "daddys little girl" syndrome out of a mans system is next to impossible I believe.
Sir @paparodin, you have not followed the format laydown in rule number 5, since you have not numbered your points.
Hence you are not considered an official debater!
I won't reesteem for the same reasons as @paparodin. But as far as the topic goes:
I think it's better to have a male child as far as comfort and ease of care goes. Today's society still benefits the males more, plus males are easier to take care of... On the other hand the girls are special in their own way, they bring more emotion to your life as a parent, the moment you send them to school, their 15 birthday, her first boyfriend, the moment she moves and leaves you, the moment she gives you a grandson or granddaughter...
Ultimately I think it depends on whether you're more of an emotional person who is attached to these moments in life and want to experience more intense emotions or if you like to keep your independence and have a son who will take care of himself early and possibly help the house sooner. Ultimately I would rather have a daughter than a son, those experiences are unique (though most of them cause pain in one way or another).
Hahaha
I love your intervention.
Your opinion is what counts.
The prize money is nothing to most steemians with reputation above forty,
but your opinions are so welcome.
It's so nice of you to forfeit the prize money to those who truly need it may have more.
The entire team thank you all very much.
Sir @ejgarcia, you have not followed the format laydown in rule number 5 since you have not taken a stand or numbering your points.
Hence you are not considered an official debater!
AGAINST
Female children from birth are easier to care for, they cry less and are more peaceful. This observation was made from my elder sisters children, one has 4 boys while the other has 3 girls.
Female children eat less and hence less expenditure. Even though i know there are always exceptions.
Female children are easier to dress and make adorable. Female children are born with natural charisma to attract a "wow" from observers. This is a satisfying thing for a mother when her child is appreciated by others.
While you just have trouser and shirt for a male child which are usually more expensive due to lack of choice, the female child market for cloths are unlimited. You can easily and affordable dress your female child with ease and satisfaction.
With the female child, you have the possibility of plaiting her hair which enhances her beauty the more giving the parents more satisfaction than having a male child.
The female child is better than the male child because females grow up fast and therefore start helping with chores earlier than a male child.
Female children can multitask with chores at home while male children can not. This makes female children better house managers and therefore better than the male child.
Female children are more attentive in school since they are interested in making good grades and making their parents happy while the male children are usually very nonchalant.
Female children are more emotional so take into heart their parents feelings in everything they do. They think of how their actions may affect their parents unlike male children who act on impulse.
Female children usually marry earlier than their male age mates so they usually give the first grand children of the family fulfilling every parents dream of carrying their grand children before they die.
Whether the female child has a job or not, she will be assisted by her husband to take care of her parents but that is not obvious for the male child. So the female child is better than the male child.
Since its the woman who keeps the home, its easier for female children to take care of their sick or aged parents since not all wives will accept to look after a sick or aged in-law. Normally we have children so we can be sure of some love and care when we are weak and aged so the female child is better than the male child.
Please everyone present your debate like @berthajoelle.
Thanks
My respect @berthajoelle.
Amazing debate!
Wow!
Hi Friends,
I am Against this ,
A male child is not better than a female child.
I am from a family where both the kids are females , me and my sister. And I feel very contented at me being a female. I feel my parents raised me to be able to stand on my feet . So I feel if all fwmles are educated and has same priority as a male then there wouldn't even be a question s to who is better.
A female child has more attention than a male child. While male kids just play and play. Female kids study and make sure they earn the position.
Female kids will for sure make sure they take care of their parents. Although male kids have an upper hand in this department. Since in india , the male child is the one who has to take care if the parents. But since if u are from a family like mine , for sure we will take care of them.
Female kids are also needed in this society , just like male kids . Inorder to maintain the law of nature. To have offsprings in the future. So one can't kill a female child , just because she was female. She is needed by our society.
My dad made sure we learned karate , for self protection. So when you have a any gender kid , I would make sure I tea h them self defense. No matter the gender , nowadays evil people are everywhere.
And as my mom says , having a girl child is like there is a light that always shines in your house.
This is a wonderful contribution to the debate.
my respect @ashley4u
Thanks sis 😙😙😙
This is amazing!
Good work @ashley4u
Please, official debaters should present their post like this.
Thanks, @ashlet4u
Hi @mwanjo i join again your contest
I m against it. Why?
I also saw a very quiet male child. And actually male child need to a bit of hyper, because later they become a man who can protect the love one. So sometimes i a bit worry when saw male child to quite.
Even sometimes i took care of neighborhood's kids especially female child, they really easy to take care of. Just play YouTube about Barbie or others they will sat down and be happy.
But for me male child or female child they are like a blessed from God to us. They good or not is depend from how we teach them, how we treat them and how we always stayed by their side every moment in their life. So is not only about parenting, but sometimes w can chat like friends. Female or male we need to be grateful because some people out there don't have a chance to have it.
When they still kids we can't judge them later be good or not, is how we always close to them.
Thank you.

Hello everyone I am for.

In our culture a lot of physical labour is needed in the farms, for hunting, for fishing and for family security. So its natural that most families think that a male child is better than a female child.
For the same reasons above male children are more prestigious than female to their fathers.
