SLC-S29/W1 | How to Photograph Mountains / Hills / Peaks by @samsunnaharsuity
I am personally very interested in photography. Seeing the beauty of nature with my own eyes and capturing it through camera is always a joy for me. In light of this challenge, I captured the natural uplands and dunes along the river that runs past our house. Although not a huge mountain, these natural slopes and dunes along the river bank are full of their own beauty, tranquility and character. In today's post I will talk about the environment of the location, landscape features, photography experience and how some important rules of landscape photography . Like foreground, horizon line,I applied the use of light and scale. I will try to share it in detail. Hope you like the post.So let's get started.
This quiet river that flows by our house is not just a stream to me, but a silent companion of daily life. At different times of the day, the river bank takes different forms. Sometimes the dew on the grass in the morning light, sometimes the green field shines in the bright afternoon sun. Sometimes the reflection of the sky in the river water in the soft afternoon light. All in all, this place is a living canvas of nature.
The first thing one notices when standing on the bank of the river is the sloping structure of the soil. This hilly terrain gives the impression of hills from a distance, although it is just like the common hills of our village. The paths leading up these slopes bear traces of human movement, creating a kind of story in the film. Somewhere a couple of people are standing looking into the distance,As if accepting their smallness in front of the greatness of nature.

Green crop fields on one side of the river, calm waterline on the other side. This contrasting beauty gives depth to the pictures. Green paddy fields or grassy land mixed with the blue water of the river created a natural balance. Somewhere nets are drawn, some small dams, these scenes show the real life of the people in the village. Nature here is not only an element of beauty but also part of livelihood.

As the afternoon sun slowly descends, the play of light and shadow begins. The soft golden light of the sun falling on the water of the river creates a sense of calm, leading to a world far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. That light spreads over the green leaves of the field,A kind of calm permeates the air. The presence of lighting at this time in the pictures makes the whole scene come alive.

In the afternoon there are many people to spend time on the banks of the river. The presence of these people adds a different dimension to the pictures. People walking away, a few people standing by the river, or family members standing together on a high place. All together helped convey the scale of the scene. Man's relationship with the vastness of nature is very natural here. Some are here for a visit, some are walking in their daily routine, and some are just passing the time.
The density of trees, shrubs and grass along the banks of the river creates a natural frame for the image. The combination of the green of the nearby leaves and the distant blue sky is soothing to the eyes. A photograph taken from a low angle somewhere gives a feeling of closeness to the ground.Again a view taken from a distance helped to understand the extent of the whole area.

Although this river bank is familiar to me, capturing it in the camera lens creates an opportunity to discover anew. Each picture should tell how deep beauty can be found even in simple rural environment. Nature itself becomes the main character here without any artificial decoration.
All in all, these pictures are a real reflection of our daily life. There are no mountain heights here, but there are hilly slopes, calm flow of rivers, expanses of greenery and easy presence of people. This realism is the greatest strength of the films. This experience of seeing a familiar place with new eyes made me realize once again that beauty does not always have to be found far away.Sometimes it waits near our house.
This riverside environment connects me more deeply with reality. Here it seems that nature is not an arranged scene but a natural part of everyday life. As people come here to walk, talk or take a rest, nature also silently accompanies them. This mutual coexistence makes the images more meaningful. Because there is an ongoing lifestyle working behind every scene.
I did not try to create any separate scene while taking the picture. What was there, as I saw it, I caught it on camera. The stillness of the river's water, the haphazard spreading of the grass on the banks,A row of trees in the distance. Everything came into the picture on its own. This naturalness makes images believable and easily creates a connection with the viewer.

The most interesting aspect of this place is its silent language. Nature conveys a lot without saying a word here. The slow flow of the river seems to speak of time, and the green land on the bank indicates the continuity of life. Pictures are an attempt to capture those silent messages, which are difficult to convey in words but easily felt in visuals.
This experience made me realize anew that photography is not only a means of capturing scenes, but also a way of preserving feelings. If you look at these pictures a few years from now, maybe the light of that time,Those moments by the wind or by the river will come back again. These memories are the real value of the film.

This simple yet profound riverside atmosphere draws me back again and again. Coming here, it seems that you can stop the pace of life and look around. I have tried to share that feeling through this challenge. As if others can feel the silent beauty of this place through the pictures.
By taking part in this challenge, I realized that mountain or highland photography is not just a display of height. Rather, it tells the story of the land's character and environment. There are no big hills in my area, but sloping hills along the banks of the river. The high ground and natural contours fit nicely with the idea of this challenge. Through this work I learned how to render even familiar environments in a meaningful way using proper perspective and lighting.
