Yes, the she is you. Not much of a disguise but just in case people weren't aware, no need to be pointing the finger for my general question :)
Saying goodbye can be a sign of respect towards the people (friends) who supported you, a polite way of finishing a fantastic journey and also a way of showing gratefulness for what one accomplished.
Absolutely. I'm glad you said 'goodbye' in a post and would have been concerned if you didn't.

My elsewhere is going to be the tennis court. After a 20 years break i'm on fire hitting those little yellow balls again, crazy shit! haha
