STEEMCHURCH: Enduring the suffering of preaching the gospel
Greetings brethren of the @steemchurch and the founder of the church - @sirknight. In our world, where religion and christianity is under attack constantly by some evil agents, some Christians still have the courage to preach the gospel in the most unexpected places just for the love of God. Unfortunately, whilst some evangelise without going through hard times and receive warm reception, some suffer immensely because of their good works.
Before now, Christians in the Western world have enjoyed a comfortable life because of western civilization and fair human rights policies favourable to our faith. Presently, there has been a shift in paradigm as christianity is constantly under attack by evil perpetrators. I was having a chat with my friend who is a banker and she complained about how her sister was beaten for preaching the gospel. My friend's sister was a new convert and spoke about the atrocities happening in her neighborhood, but she was beaten for it. This is just one of the many things christians suffer in our world today. We see christian employees lose their jobs because they have an employer that believes another in another faith or doctrine.
Does this mean we should back down?
The answer is No, we cannot relent in our will to make the world a better place. As christians we should search our minds against atrocities that will liken us to evil and as Paul charged Timothy to "prepare for the suffering of preaching the gospel", same applies to present day christans. 2 Timothy 1:8
Do not blush or be ashamed then, to testify to and for our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake, but [with me] take your share of the suffering [to which the preaching] of the Gospel [may expose you, and do it] in the power of God
We must not relent in spreading the gospel as it is one of the greatest commandment given to us by God. As christians, we have a clear picture of what it means to be a follower of God and have weighed the costs and benefits.
We must remember that all pain is temporary and it is not comparable to the glory we will receive afterwards.
May God comfort all those that have suffered for the gospel.Amen

We agree with you. Let us not feel discouraged because of persecutions or oppositions we may face. God sees everything. Thanks for talking about this.

Those preaching the Gospel are always persecuted. I remember preaching with a friend a year ago, the person we were preaching to started raining insults upon insults on us. It is so discouraging, but knowing that Jesus was also persecuted keeps us going. He even warns in the scriptures that those following him will be persecuted.
Thanks for sharing this on SteemChurch.
This is one thing that has made many Christians interpret the scriptures that says "since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom of God suffered violence and only the violence takes it by force " wrongly using in as a means to retaliate back. But when ever we are persecuted, we should always remember the sermon on the mountain, and the gospel that teaches us that if someone slaps your on your left cheek, give him the right one two. Let us always keep in mind that God almighty is the defender of the oppressed.
This has all happened before. In the time of the apostles some were gruesomely killed while others had different trials. In our world today we would still face suffering and persecution for the sake of the gospel. The lord Jesus assured us of a helper and a comforter before he went into the heavens. This is the holyspirit. The holy spirit is our comforter and our guide. We as christians should draw nearer to him and find solace in the fact that we have a final and heavenly reward awaiting us. The #steemchurch tag and @steemchurch along with its founder the great @sirknight are all doing a wonderful job here on this platform. I applaud all your efforts and hope that the good lord bless you all.
Saul’s kingdom in Israel was never fully realized, and God’s eternal kingdom in Christ hasn’t been consummated. Our present suffering exists between these two kingdoms and our affliction will build one or the other. As we endure suffering, whatever form it takes, which gospel does our life proclaim? As we are bombarded with illness, conflict, financial stress, and death, we can easily slide toward despair and self-pity. We sometimes prefer to live in a spiritual Philistia of defeat. When we do, we’re letting ourselves think and believe and live as if the King of the universe is dead.
Every thing we do is in the service of God,no matter the sufferings, we must endure because God has promised us blessings uncountable!
As children of God, we should never be shy of the gospel because it is the truth and the truth liberates us from bondage. As children of God, we are meant to endure every torture that comes with preaching the gospel. The gospel is light and light prevails darkness. Thanks for sharing this heartfelt post.
Those proclaiming the Gospel are constantly mistreated. I lectured with a companion a year back, the individual we were lecturing begun drizzling abuse upon affronts on us. It is so demoralizing, however realizing that Jesus was likewise mistreated props us up. He even cautions in the sacred writings that those tailing him will be mistreated.
A debt of gratitude is in order for sharing this on SteemChurch.
There is nobody in history who does Gods work that never undergo hardship and persecution ,even God himself went through it and that alone kerps us going for their is no amount of persecution done to us that is greater than what jesus christ went through on earth, and it shows we are doingbit right for if everybody accepts us it means we are not saying thevright words becayse the world akways prefer lies than truth.
Great post
