This has all happened before. In the time of the apostles some were gruesomely killed while others had different trials. In our world today we would still face suffering and persecution for the sake of the gospel. The lord Jesus assured us of a helper and a comforter before he went into the heavens. This is the holyspirit. The holy spirit is our comforter and our guide. We as christians should draw nearer to him and find solace in the fact that we have a final and heavenly reward awaiting us.
