As it always has been

I recently spoke to a girl, a young woman, much younger than me. And my communication with her made me think.
For one thing, it made me feel very old. 😂 Simply because I constantly had to explain things to her, even things like: What does this word mean? And you know, when you have to explain things to someone that seem elementary to you, even self-explanatory, you start to wonder what world you live in, or rather - what era. 😅
Aren't you stuck in some old era, just because you're already old, the new times may not be for you anymore, and look at all these young and carefree people around... not knowing things 😐

I must note that this young woman is not unintelligent. She has completed her higher education abroad, she speaks at least two foreign languages. Even if this is not a criterion for anything, the very fact that she has lived abroad, even forcibly made her see, experience and learn new things, she should even know more things than her peers who have left their lives in their native country at that time...
She certainly doesn't lack knowledge, knowledge of the subject matter she studied at university, then worked in Bulgaria, and even reached some initial managerial position. And yet, my communication with her left me in astonishment.

This girl doesn't lack knowledge, but she lacks something else. And that is - life experience. She may have a little more experience than her peers, who have lived all their years of life in their native country. But overall, she lacks life experience. And that makes her, at least in my eyes, quite unprepared for what awaits her next.

But wasn't that the case with all of us at that age? I think that's the case, yes. In principle, that's the case. At 20-something, it's impossible to have the experience and wisdom that we have after another 20 years.

And here comes the reason for writing this post:

Student protests. Every few years, here and there, in different parts of Europe, as well as the world, student protests appear. Students protest against some regime, some government, the status quo, do some things, organize marches, cannonades, attacks on police officers, storm buildings, achieve or fail to achieve some things. And then they disappear.

I will not forget what I heard firsthand from people who protested before, during and after the fall of the regime in Bulgaria, they were very young then. I also see what happened with the last "student protests" in the country, during the epidemic (nothing).
I feel like I am the only one who remembers these "protests" nowadays, they were so illogical, meaningless, aimless and... well organized. So well organized that I personally feel stupid nowadays thinking about them. While other people prefer not to think about them at all.

People who once participated in the protests in the late 80s and early 90s now say that they were simply lied to then, used and deceived. I am convinced that they themselves do not even want to remember that period of their lives when they had such high hopes that things would really change, that they would get better. And they were simply used and lied to.

The students from the recent protests during the pandemic... where the hell are they anyway nowadays?
This was a gathering of young people who were presented as "students from abroad who had returned because of the pandemic" to protest for a while, to make a splash, to act, to riot, as only a young force can do, and then to disappear.
Oh yes, there were results of this whole farce, this whole organized fabrication - certain people took power. While all these "young hopes" of Bulgaria simply fell silent and disappeared. Not because something changed in the country. Nothing changed, power is being transferred from the hands of some thieves and swindlers to others, life is becoming more and more difficult, but...

"from 01.01.2026 we will get rich, that's what they told us," the young woman from the beginning of my post tells me with confidence.
And I gasp in amazement. "You can't be that stupid, you just can't," I think to myself.
And out loud I say: "Look now, let's look at the situation realistically - how exactly will we get rich after 01.01.2026? Rather, the exact opposite will happen, because..."

Young people, the great hope of the country, of every country, and not just young people, but students. "Student" sounds prestigious, doesn't it? And that's exactly what the political organizers of the protests use and aim to do - to instill respect. And to urge - the young intelligentsia of the country to protest. But which intelligent class is that exactly? The one who lacks life experience, who is easily manipulated and easily impressed by things and... promises. Empty promises, and so empty that the mind of a mature person cannot grasp it.

Forgive me for being cynical again, but I can't be impressed when I hear that some students somewhere are protesting and doing some things. Can you? 😂
Rather, the question should be asked again: who could have organized them and what is their goal?
And the poor students? They will get a few euros, they will perhaps become famous because they will be featured on the news, probably on international television as well, presenting them as heroes. If they're lucky, they'll only get away with a broken nose or a sprained arm (you may not remember my other theory about organizing protests in general and the role of physical confrontations in the amount paid to organizers by sponsors).
And that will be all. As it always has been. Pure psychology of the masses again. And nothing constructive, of course, as always.

Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
