The mysterious rebel Narcissus poeticus
Because of the weather outside, today I'm going to publish a rather unconventional post for me.
We are going to talk about one flower in one spring. Just because I'm waiting for spring to come, lol.
This one Narcissus poeticus flower was the greatest surprise for me one spring.
I made a lot of observations then... in the garden. It was such a time, you know, during the pandemic, when there weren't many and varied objects to observe and explore. And then I did an observational experiment with the tulips in the garden, which I photographed growing in a group and growing alone.
That was the moment I found out that in the natural, or rather floral world, it doesn't really matter if you grow alone or in a group.
But in the case of this lovely Narcissus poeticus, it's not just that. This is more about where exactly it is (where I photographed it) and how it got there.

(I changed the point of view just for a second.)
All the flowers in our garden were planted by someone. Long before we came to live here. And all these cultivated plants sprout, grow, bloom and fade in the same places. Each year.
But this Narcissus poeticus is not sown by anyone. Because it is outside the house. It is located on the street.
I once photographed in the settlement a sidewalk overgrown with flowers. Not pots of flowers on the sidewalk, but flowers sprouting like weeds out of order on the sidewalk - an unusual sight that I'm sure you've never seen in your life.
Well, I think they were planted there on purpose. These could not have been seeds accidentally dispersed by the wind. Therefore, the two cases cannot be compared.
And this makes the situation of this one Narcissus poeticus here even more mysterious.
How did it get there?
It is true that there is a group of such flowers planted in the garden just on the other side of the garden fence. But an entire concrete wall separates these plants.
Therefore in such cases I simply say that this is the rebel, dissatisfied with the order that has been established in the garden, who has decided to live alone and has jumped over the fence to escape from his fellows 😄
And such a rebel deserves to be explored and photographed, right?

![]() | Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
