What happens when something happens

IMG_20260802_112752.jpg

Do we really know what exactly happens when something happens? Do we even know why Trumр for example does what he does, what happens in Gaza, and what happens even in Kyiv, what happened in Ceuta a week ago, or what exactly happened in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv when that man was murdered, or what happened in the Bulgarian town of Bansko, in that failed attempt to get these young people there out for being Nazis, in order to provoke an international scandal? Or do we even know what happened in the winter with the murder of those 6 people, including children, people close to the government, close to the former government as well, close to the government in the past...?

First of all, do not read foreign news, i.e. news that concerns foreign countries, from media from your country. This news will always be extremely distorted, absolutely false.
I recently read several headlines written in English, written by foreign media, which concerned scandals and criminal incidents in Bulgaria and I was shocked by the untruthfulness of what was written. First of all, no one is aware of what is happening, no one knows the facts, everything is left to human imagination, to the imagination of party leaders from opposition political parties, who are whirling in their fabrications, all this for a party purpose.

You understand, the truth has never mattered. It is important to have a reason to write nonsense, to distort everything, to pull out a calf from under the oxen, to generate fake photos with AI, to fabricate non-existent chats, just to distort things in favor of the propaganda goals of the specific party.

Then this is fed to the supporters of this party, FB is flooded with fake interpretations of unfortunate events, a public scandal flares up, everyone writes about it for days and weeks. And then they stop when the scandal stops being fueled by political parties. And so on until the next scandal.

This happens at the local level.

At the same time, foreign media take some material. I don't know how and where they get it from, but it turns out that it is totally wrong. There, even the available facts that have been checked, such as age, number of people, incident, outcome of the incident, etc. are wrong. And what about the rest?

But in the end, both local and foreign citizens never find out what exactly happened. And perhaps this is the scariest thing that can happen in a country - for local people to never understand when what is happening in some terrible events. Not only because everything is always hidden from them - an example is the Chernobyl accident. Hidden not only to protect people from some terrible knowledge that is better not to be known, but hidden because people's lives here have no meaning, no person and no life here matters.

IMG_20260802_112624.jpg

But hidden, because the state too, and by state, as I also recently wrote, I don't mean people, but by state I mean a few people who take advantage of their high position to do outrageous things solely for personal gain, and so, the state also does its evil things, kills people who get in their way, covers up the mistakes of state officials through subsequent crimes, the authorities are involved in the drug trade, etc. That's why it's extremely funny when for days on end they start talking on the evening news about the "largest laboratory" for fentanyl in some gypsy neighborhood in the capital, uncovered by the police, as if this is really some super-large laboratory, and as if the police, the authorities and the state really care about people's lives and health, after the miserable state of healthcare, low salaries and everything. And that this is not to clear the competition for some of "their people" who give them money so that can operate unhindered on the drug market in Bulgaria...

The funniest thing is when the state/authorities pretend to care about the population, when this is not the case at all. If they cared, salaries would not be so low, prices for everything so high, higher than those in Western Europe, we would also not be eating junk, low-quality but expensive food, wearing the lowest quality clothes and so on. If they cared, there would be some kind of Health System, there would be many things. But now people are left with drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and possibly gambling, quick loans at incredibly high interest rates, and possibly by the summer to save up money, or with a loan to reach our nasty and dirty, extremely expensive seaside, where they would feel human for at least 4-5 days. Possibly.

But anyway, my point was this - do you, in your own countries, know what happens when something happens? Because in Bulgaria, you really don't understand anything about the things that happen - who is right, who is wrong, who exactly did what, who and what exactly are these people, where do they come from, what are they fighting for, what do they want, what did they say, what didn't they say, what did they do or didn't do.

Or perhaps the question is also: who orchestrated all this? Who stands to benefit from this scandal, from this crime?

These events occur, or are publicly revealed, at very specific moments, timed to achieve a particular objective. Major scandals or crimes, or even lesser offenses blown up into massive scandals, often happen in the summer, a time when people seem to accept almost anything that comes their way. Yet they accept it with fury, that fury spills out onto Facebook, but not into the public squares - not against the government, not over the lack of water or power outages, not because of poor-quality food, high petrol prices, or the unjustifiably high costs of electricity, water, and heating... and the list goes on.

Everything is so well orchestrated, so pitifully orchestrated, that I truly pity all those people who fall for it: writing, liking, sharing, and commenting, living with the scandal for weeks on end, living inside it as if they had no private lives or problems of their own in this already pretty lousy existence.

So, do you, in your own countries, know what happens when something happens?

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

I'm curious, do you think being more aware of the local news and understanding the underlying cultural context of a country could help us better grasp the nuances of international events, such as what happened in Bulgaria? 🤔💡📊
