"SEC-S29W3: Progressive Action Fitness Challenge
Last week was a success and I was determined to go further, not without a little motivation from @marvinvelasquez. He told me to go a little lower for the best result and I decided to hop on this by going a bit lower this time even though it was difficult to hold onto my hands in the air.. I stopped at 40 reps and decided to increase it by 5 until I'm done with all the tasks for this season. Going lower wasn't easy, but it was attainable. How?
Let's start with the first increased repetition for the squat. I stopped at 40 last week, so I'll be doing 45 for day 1. For these three days, I decided to do it on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday which was yesterday. I couldn't post yesterday because I was already exhausted by the energy I pulled out doing my normal challenge and this Steemit's challenge.
| Monday | 45 reps |
|---|---|
| Tuesday | 50 Reps |
| Wednesday | 55 Reps |
If you look at the pattern, I was increasing each day by 5 repetitions and didn't want to do more than I could do especially with the new change in body posture when doing the squat. This week, I experienced the most increased heartbeat and breathing rate. True, the best result was from extending lower.
Day 1 |
|---|
On the first day which was Monday, I did the program around 4pm because I was occupied with a lot of activities in the morning and I did it in my normal position where I can see people and get motivated to push even though suspending my hands were difficult to hold for a long time. So the program is not far off from the others, just a little adjustment in posture.
I stood my grounds with my feet, bare. I then positioned as if I was sitting, but this time I went lower so that my knee can align with my butt. That's the main squat even though it was difficult to lift my body again due to pressure.
My hands were held stationary in one position while it accompany my body to move without actually moving. It was just held in its place. That was difficult.
45 wasn't a joke. The more I counted, the more I felt I had more to do. But I had a relief sort of. I don't usually feel the pain after the exercise. I feel relieved instead.
My breathing rate and heartbeat increased rapidly as I went down and then dropped as I stood up to find relief and stretch my thighs.
How I felt? |
|---|
I felt relieved after the exercise as if I didn't do anything, but during the exercise, my whole body was involved, but the most pressure was felt in my butt, legs and hands. I need to check the mirror to see if some flesh has added. Since it was just 45, I was a bit relieved but worried about the next program. Day 1 reminded me that I need focus on achieving 50 because I'm not doing it fast, but slowly to avoid serious body injuries.
| Heart rate before exercise | 68/min |
|---|---|
| Heart rate during exercise | 71/min |
| Heart rate after exercise | 70/min |
| Respiration before exercise | 14/min |
|---|---|
| Respiration during exercise | 20/min |
| Respiration after exercise | 17/min |
Day 2 |
|---|
The day for 50 reps came and with that burning desire to achieve the best result, I saw 50 as 45. So I did it the same way I did in day 1, but this time it was in the late hours of the morning. I could feel the morning breeze as if it was winter wind blowing. That was enough strength given to me to press forward and aim at the target. The only thing that changed was how I felt in day 2 and my breathing and heartbeat rate, increasing more than day 2.
Starting off from 1-30 didn't pinch me, but once I entered 35, I began to feel every sensation. I felt enough sensations in day 2. My body was sensitive and it was as if my legs nerves were in contact. I could feel my butt expanding in a way because the pelvis kept adjusting once I was counting on 38-45 reps. And there, I did 50 with endurance.
How I felt? |
|---|
The additional 5 reps added to my program wasn't that bad. I felt relieved after the program. The only point I would have been affected is if I did the three squats in one day, but this one was done in three consecutive days with fresh energises from each day. So I didn't really feel much pain with the increase in reps. I just felt sensitivity in my nerves. My breathing rate was faster than on day 1.
| Heart rate before exercise | 66/min |
|---|---|
| Heart rate during exercise | 73 /min |
| Heart rate after exercise | 69/min |
| Respiration before exercise | 15/min |
|---|---|
| Respiration during exercise | 22/min |
| Respiration after exercise | 19/min |
Day 3 |
|---|
Day 3 was the last program and it did it in a fitness center where I got enough motivation because I saw other people working out. I felt like doing more than 55 because I was motivated to the core. I didn't feel any pain during the program, but I was mindful so as not to drop my hands and also lower my body in a position that's not off limits. I couldn't feel much pressure around my leg region and it was difficult to stand up like in other days.
| Heart rate before exercise | 63/min |
|---|---|
| Heart rate during exercise | 66/min |
| Heart rate after exercise | 64/min |
| Respiration before exercise | 14/min |
|---|---|
| Respiration during exercise | 17/min |
| Respiration after exercise | 15/min |
My breathing rate and heartbeat dropped in day 3 which shows that the environment too affects how effective your program can be. When you're alone doing a particular program with no one to put a smile on your face, you get to suffer pains more than when you're with people. I didn't even know I reached 40 so fast and I was just happy while maintaining my focus.
Can't wait to do the rest of the programs with joy. 70 is the next target till we go to 100

Hi, @bossj23
It's a pleasure to see that you've accepted our challenge, welcome! Here is our evaluation of your participation:
The movements have been much better this week. The idea behind lowering the weight is to avoid putting too much strain on the knees and injuring them, so it's suggested to do fewer repetitions if the person doesn't practice this exercise much. Excellent work!
We'll see you next week!
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
