How has Steem impacted my life?
Hooray you sexy readers! Answering a question: How Has Steem Impacted My Life?
It's been a while that I don't unleash the mighty fingers and attack the keyboard with an explosive dose of creativity - not that I'm not having subjects to talk about, but that I've been planning some crazy adventures for the near future, and also trying to write a book that will help me with the food costs out there. Enough with spoilers!
In between procrastinations, fears, apprehensions and cups of coffee - to maybe aliviate my constipation that insists to jam me before any trip - I've been following the trends on our sexy Steem blockchain.
Without further ado, on this post, I'll jump straight into the crazyest past stories shared by me on this wanderlusty and be careful if you follow travel blog to answer a call from @theycallmedan. He's asking us about the impact of Steem in our life ever since we became part of the Steem family and why we would recommend it over a similar project?

How Has Steem Impacted My Life?
It would be impossible to talk about the many impacts Steem has caused, without going through the boring task of exploring the carrer of Steemian Mr.P from the very start, because yes, Steem has been impactful ever since. Don't worry, I'll be brief and soon we'll fast forward to the wild parts.
Anyway... Bitcoin was on a rampant bull run on that December (2017) when I decided to lose my money learn about cryptocurrency; I was also planning to start a website to write about my adventures, and why not dreamming about financing my trips from my articles. I had no idea how to do it, nor I had any ability whatsover when it comes to writing. However, I had a goal, and from that goal I stumbled upon a new platform for blogging called Steemit on a certain complex Steem blockchain, which I had no clue how to handle all the nuances. All I knew is that it had an editor and would be easier to unleash my wild adventure stories there, instead of setting an even more complex wordpress website; not to mention that on Steem it would be free.
From this happy find while browsing TA articles, to maybe recover a little bit of my money when the bubble burst, I was struck by the first Steemimpact - I discovered a passion for travel writing and photography.

Over these more than two years of nearly incessant postings, the Steem blockchain has gifted me with the most amazing sequence of life impacts I'd ever imagine. I made incredible friends, I became part of the TravelFeed Team, I left my job, I bought a one way ticket to Europe to meet other Steemians on Steem Fest 3 and I was forced to use my Steem savings to actually live!
The Biggest Impact of Them All
Leaving the important, yet melancolic, bits of Steemimpacts and fast forwardings several moons to Steem Fest 3, I'd like to write about the untold story of how I survived thanks to Steem and the community.
When I decided to use my economies to buy a one way ticket to Europe to attend SF3 I knew that I wouldn't have money to finance such a trip, nor I'd have money to go back home. For any sane person it would be a stupid idea, something so out of the comfort zone that it would make the strongest guts loose. On my mind it was simple though, I planned to stick around Europe and just be free while exploring new places on my bicycle. To survive I'd produce articles and use the money to buy food. I wouldn't need accomodation, because I had my trusty camping tent.
During three months that was my new life, countless nights camping on the snow, thousands of kilometers cycled on various countries, over the Alps and along rivers. Some nights were freezing and most of the moments could not be recorded or turned into content due to my old equipment failing and running out of batery because of the low temperatures. It's incredible how the perception of time changes when we are out there, those three months passed real fast. I was so busy all the time that I forgot that I was running out of money. That's when my run for survivability began.
After those three months or nearly 3000 km I had no more money on my pockets, barely enough to pay for the ferry from France to England, where I planned to somehow settle and raise money. All good - I thought. All I need is a cheap hostel and that's it. So I did, made my way to London!
The Steem Miracle
With all due simplifications to the story, on my first night in London my bicycle was stolen... I was so messed up that only a series of miracles would solve that puzzle I had put myself into. That's when the Steem blockchain became the most important thing that could have happened.
I don't like to expose names, but because of this amazing community (you know who you are!) I was able to find accomodation with an amazing family, who hosted me for more than a month. There I was able to work harder on my Steem blog and use the awards to pay for some services. Thanks to Steem friends I was able to reconstruct a solid base from where I reclaimed my independance and found my way back home.
Now I write this article from my couch back in Brazil, from where my next adventure will begin, but for those 8 months that I lived in Europe I'll be forever grateful. Everything the Steem community has provided me I want to provide for someone else, all the incredible support - that's what maes us great.
Why I Would Recommend Steem over a similar project?
Because we have the wildest, most caring, strongest and sexiest communities on the internet - no matter if you participate on the travel niche or any other. Steemians may only talk over internet chats, but when we meet, it feels like we've known each other for ages. Even though we've never had an actual life intimacy, we are willing to open the doors of our houses to this other crazy monsters called Steemians.
The Steem blockchain opens a whole bunch of doors for those willing to exercise creativity, be it as a developer or a content creator. Here we're able to participate and contribute to project ideas - have you ever tried that on big websites such as Instagram/FaceBook?
I conclude this clumsy post by saying that I'm glad I found Steem back in 2017, instead of starting my own website - who knows if I'd still be writing if I had chosen the other path.

Love love, your post inspired me!
Happy to discover you here Mr P. you are a great guy and a very talented fellow steemian, love your writing style and humor! I'm sure your plan would have worked if you were going out touring in the summer instead of winter and a better market time for steem price. Congratulations for your TravelFeed team enrolment and contribution, just did my first post on it and I like it so far, I'm sure will only get better with time.
Would you consider me nuts if I say I kinda loved cycling during the winter and camping on those freezing forests? hahahha I believe running outta money is part of my adventures \o\
Btw, thank you for posting about the EuroVelo, without your posts I wouldn't have heard about all those amazing trails, big inspiration!
I am digging these posts about the effects of Steem on people’s lives. I am trying to focus more on travel and ways I can fund it. I have been taking a bit of a break from all social media for a while but finally getting back in and pretty much focusing on nothing but Steem. Being I now live full time in my van, I think the travel blogs may start to come! Thanks for the well written and inspirational post.
You live in a van? That's one huge step that I've been dreaming about for a while! Either a van or a sailboat.
I'm also not a social media user, I only have twitter to follow some news, but my main webpage is Steem related - I think it's one hell of a good tool to exercise creativity and why not raise some money (won't make us rich, but certainly helps with food)
Yeah man, the connections I have made in here are all pretty cool people. I mean you have to be fairly intelligent to use this platform so I know I can communicate with most, lol.
But yeah man, I have been full time in the van since September. It was definitely an adjustment but at this point I am loving it. I am the most active I have been in years and actually have been more healthy than ever too. I still have a full time job that I work from the van but has pretty tight requirements and such so I hang out on work days in places that I can get really good internet or I park at either my sister’s house, where I pay the internet bill, as well as my ex and kids place, again, where I pay internet, so instead of rent, I pay for internet in multiple places as well as my own mobile unit. But when I am off, I tend to want to venture out and travel, except in winter, I am sticking close by my safe places, lol. But all I can say man is do it. Get a van and do it. I over analyzed and over spent on crap I thought I needed. Half of it is in my mini storage locker, lol. If you have any questions just ask!
The over spending on crap is real !! It's been a while that I'm trying to sell some things I don't really use, so just now I can realise that I shouldn't have bought those things in the first place, it's nuts!!!
