For those that have been in the steem community for a long time now, how many of you have wanted to achieve Whale status?
But might not know what it means to be a whale! In the simplest terms, becoming a Steem Whale requires the Maximum Steem Power (SP) that you can have! Being a Whale is being in the top 1% of ALL Steem users!

First off, I must say thank you for the guidance from this original post! I orignally viewed this post when I first joined steem and I thought that It would be fun to bring it back especially for the noobies! Which of course I still consider myself :D source Would you continue reading about how to become a steemit whale? Would you tell me your thoughts on the Plankton level of the great steemit sea?

Plankton

Before getting to what an actual Steem Whale is lets go over what Steem users can be referred as in the community. We have Whales, Dolphins, minnows, and from there we can explore many smaller sea creature all the way down to plankton but lets not get that deep into it! (but lets be honest plankton might be an individual that signed up an hasn’t created a post yet :( )

Minnows

Are those in the community that are contributing greatly striving to because whales or dolphins! However, these minnows are truly the backbone of steemit. Sparking conversations, up voting content, sharing funny things they catch on youtube and what not! Even though minnows dont have much too offer when it comes to steem power they are there to leave heartfelt comments in hope of a dolphin or whale will be kind enough to up vote their insight!

Dolphins

We are approaching larger sea creatures now! These individuals are very much invested into the steem community. Dolphins are creators! Creating posts daily or Several times a week making unique content that is impactful to steem itself or impactful content to better individuals!

Whales

Like Dolphins we have come to a group of steem users that are quiet but can make a huge impact on a persons post! These users are know as Steem Whales! When one has achieved Steem Whale status, they are one of the most influential individuals on Steemit.com! Their are already so many influential people in this great community! At the time of this post the top 129 steemers have over 100,000 Steam power! This is incredible!

Anyway, in my opinion if you have over 5000 steem power you are VERY influential on this great community! But the true whales are the individuals that have acquired 50,000 steem power or more! They can easily up vote a post for $30! To a lot of people this can make a large impact on their life and it is incredible that someone is essentially saying here is $30 for your well thought out content! Earning something that you actually put time and energy too! This is what helps make steem such a great community! Everyone giving to one another!

You might be a whale in the great sea of steem but be careful! You will have a huge impact on the community! When you observe the magnificence of the top 10 steem whats you dont see them powering down their million of of steem dollars! That would crush the ecosystem, even if it takes quite a while to do so!

Now, how do you become one of the most influential people in the steem community? How do you have that much steem power?

Well, just know that it won’t happen over night :) unless you have 50 bitcoin you want to trade for some steem ;)

To become a whale what needs to be done?

1. Time

2. Make sure you are active in the community! That consists of posting! Create more unique content :) Comment on others content. Be insightful about your posts :)

3. Buy More Steem and POWER UP!
