The entire social media and crypto mashup is starting to see a bit of traction from what I've seen. The only issue is that there doesn't seem to be anything out there right now to compete. I'm keeping an eye on the market though.

Content is definitely king, and you need to able to both display and discover in a useful fashion. As an example - I want to read about music, but specific music at that. It's only by looking around, finding and adoption underutilised tags that I get a vague window in.

Still, every social network was really plain to start off, and took years to refine.

and Steem has a serious advantage right now, but there's so many things that are lacking..especially in the UX/UI area. They aren't taking Steemit.com srsly, but I believe that was the point the whole time. They don't care abt Steemit.com, only building out the Steem blockchain. Foolish, imo.

I feel the task is unenviable. Making a social network is hard, getting adoption is hard, getting engagement is hard. Then fling trying to make waves in blockchain as it’s all starting to go a little bit crazy in there... and both have to work.

I’m curious enough to run with the journey though.

no doubt. Will be interesting to see what Clout.io does. They are focusing on only crypto news and discussion. Yours.org has no chance to replace Steem. Super small dev team, not placing content in the blockchain and website is very VERY basic.

Akasha.world is the other one I’ve seen but I’ve got scant details on that. Time will tell. As I say, I’m in full curiosity mode and it’s keeping an idle mind ticking over.
