probably not that many. the early adopters who hustled hard were probably in the best position to create such an opportunity. however, it's still open-game - anyone who really hustles hard and puts in the work to create some high quality content consistently has just as equal an opportunity to earn themselves such at any point. as they say, the creme rises to the top...

I wish I heard of it early as well :)

relatively, it still is early...

You have a point there if you look from the perspective of a person in 2019.

I'm not sure what the figures are now, but last I heard a week or two ago, there was something like 15-20k users on Steemit. That's nothing.

I dunno if we can accurately make comparisons to other social media sites - and we might not foresee what other 'competition' to Steemit might pop up... but considering Reddit has like 234 million users, Facebook over a billion... Steemit could grow to a fraction of the size, and we'd still be among the first few now...

this is so so SO true.

What would be great is if they can make a version of Steemit that is like youtube that would be huge I think!

In some ways, it has all it needs already..Who cares if the video itself is streamed from youtube? But yeah, maybe it will get Married with Siacoin or Storj some day, and have a decentralized video streaming service.

I agree but you don't have like a channel or search only videos or have your video subscriptions so it's lacking in order to explode with video. There are improvements that even this platform could benefit from if you compare it to reddit it's missing like just putting a link and nothing else then people can comment below that's just one example but for videos youtube is way better, so I'm ok with a unified platform but it would need to be re-engeneered if that's the case or build a second platform for videos, called it Steemvid.com or something like that! As long as the power/paid thing is the same that' swhat it will make it a huge success like Steemit is ! Just my 2 cents!
